I'm super-excited. My husband blew out his knee. No, I'm not excited he blew out his knee, but because he injured his right knee, we're no longer driving. And, since the plane tickets are cheaper on Saturday than on the Sunday we're checking in to WL, we're coming a day earlier. So, I added a night at POFQ to the beginning of our stay! We get in later in the day--flight arrives at 4:30 pm--but I figure it's enough time to have a relaxing evening at the resort with our two girls (10 & 5). Any advice from veteran POFQ people about how to enjoy our short time there? I was thinking of doing a casual dinner on site and then maybe the camp fire. But, the girls loved the look of the pool as well! And, then there's the carriage rides...

You can also take the boat to DTD if you'd rather eat somewhere there before returning for the camp fire.

You are going to love POFQ. It's our favorite resort. We like the food court for dinner. The make your own salad is great. My kids love the pool and the marshmallow roasting, so make sure you save time for that. Don't forget to have a beignet (or two) for dessert. They are sooo good.

Oooh! The boat goes from POFQ to DTD? We're totally doing that if we have time. Thanks! :)
DTD is our dinner place where we have no other plans. We enjoy Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace and Cooke's of Dublin (QS next to Raglan Road). Then we checkout the big Disney store, a few others & grab an ice cream at Ghiradelli. We haven't been since they opened up the new stuff this year.

Enjoy the pool and ditto the boat to DTD. Was our go to resort for many years and that was one of our favorite things about it! You can also go over to POR and the kids can swim there too (at least that use to be the case between POR and POFQ). For food, I would eat DTD at Wolfgang Puck's - our favorite QS in all of WDW. Enjoy!

I stayed at POR and I can tell you the boat from Disney Springs is awesome!!! It's soo peaceful and my friends and I loved being able to sit back and ride it back to the resort and see a beautiful view (even at night) back to the resort! So I highly recommend it. Also keep an eye out for the movies under the stars, we did that on night and it was so nice. We sat down after getting back from Disney springs watched Malificent while enjoying a Mickey Bar Ice Cream, perfect chill night :)

Yes all the pools at POR are available for POFQ guests. We have gone up to the main pool at POR on several of our trips.

You have the "movies under the stars" by building 5 and the campfire. Those are always fun. The boat to DTD for dinner and still have some pool/hot tub time. With your husband hurting his knee (I dislocated my knee cap 2 years ago and still ran the W&D Half Marathon) he may enjoy the hot tub the best.. :) We are staying at POFQ from 19 Sept to 26 Sept. Make sure to try the Beignets in the morning before you transfer to WL. You'll thank me later.. :)

There is only the food court at POFQ (no table service restaurant). If you want to go to POR you have to use the bus now. The ferries each run only to DTD from their respective resort. It approximately a 20 minute ride. It is lovely! There are also carriage rides that go thru both resorts but I believe they depart from POR.
For one evening, I would stick with the POFQ pool. It is WAY LESS CROWDED and had a nice slide for the kids.
Just got back 3 days ago from 2 stays at FQ. ;)

The walk up to POR was about 15 or minutes for us. We have gone up several times each trip to use their pool or go to the River Roost . Some days we have done it twice a day on in the afternoon and then back at night.
Don't know if your DH knee makes the walk a no go for you.
