One night in a studio, where would you stay?

We are doing a Disney Cruise this fall and staying with my in laws at their Bonnet Creek timeshare for a few days beforehand. We are staying one night after the cruise using our DVC membership. That night also happens to be my birthday. We own at AKV and have a room booked there but I want to stay somewhere new this time. We only own 100 pts so I am usually pretty conservative with them and I want this to be a splurge of sorts. We have stayed at AKV, BWV and BCV. I want to be close to the parks. Looking at the Poly, GFV, or BLT. The construction at WLV has put me off from staying there. Would also consider BCV too, but it's Food and Wine so I know that's going to be tough. What's my best chance? What would be your top choice?

Poly or if you can get in VGF so you can try an MK resort. I like both resorts a lot, enough that I wished I owned points at both.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

If I was trying to conserve my points I would just book a studio at SSR and plan dinner at the Turf Club or in Disney Springs. It's only 1 night and the Turf Club and / or Disney Springs have good eats and the points are reasonable - plus you'd get to try a new resort that you haven't tried before. (Unless you're planning to go to F&W for dinner.) If you're looking for a splurge any of the 3 resorts you mentioned would blow a sufficient number of points to be what I would call a splurge.

If your thinking of going to MNSSHP, then I would choose BLT in order to walk back after the party. Otherwise, I might favor VGF. I have not stayed there, but the rooms are awesome and it's a wonderful resort. I'm not a big fan of Poly. As an owner at AKV, we usually do a value room at AKV pre-cruise to conserve points.

We did one night at BLT after a cruise last March and it was great! We thought we'd likely never stay at BLT for a longer trip (too many points, not our style) so it was a good chance to try it. Now of course the kids want to go back! We had a lake view room but ended up in a room with a partial view of MK, so that was a bonus!

Though we have only stayed in 1 beds at BLT and not a studio, we love the resort. Walking to MK, watching Wishes from TOTWL, all the amenities of a short walk to the Contemporary make for a very nice stay. Before my 1st time there, the modern feel didnt appeal to me, but after staying there, I fell in love with it all.

We own at BLT so I might be biased. If you only have one night though, BLT is the most convenient to MK & EP. Being able to walk to MK trump most things in my book.

OK so based on your parameters Poly, GFV, or BLT. Since its one night it would depend on what I want to do. If you are going to Dinner at one of the resorts (and just going to enjoy the resort), I might select the resort based on my dining reservations. If you want easy access to MK or want to watch fireworks from Top of the World I would go BLT. Personally I would go Poly. There are no wrong answers, especially with it being just one day.

It depends on what you want to do. Out of the monorail resorts Poly would be best for F&W because you can walk to the Epcot monorail. If you're going to MK then BLT. If you have a dinner reservation then I would go with the resort there. If you don't really care about the logistics and just want to feel extra pampered then VGF.

Thanks all. I haven't decided what we will be doing yet. Plan is to fly in Friday night before the cruise, do F&W on Saturday, MNSSHP on Sun night. Then cruise M-F. Not sure yet if we will do another park on Friday (AK?) or relax at the hotel and do MNSSHP again. Gotta figure it out soon!!

Whatever you do choose, I would have a priority list and not get your heart set on anything at that time of year - especially if its a MNSSHP night. i.e. if BLT sounds best, make sure you know if Poly or GFV is next on the list. This is especially important if you are letting someone other than you have an opinion - having to go back to someone to get an opinion at that time of year can mean a lost opportunity. But since its your birthday, I bet you get to have the opinion :)

And with that in mind, I'd consider the possibility that BCV or BWV might have one night open for the night you need. For a single night, its possible that you'll hit the night there is availability. If it was open, would you grab it? All the way through to "we'd just keep our VAKL reservation if we couldn't get into one of these."
