One nice meal?

Which restaurant would you go to if you could do only one?

  • Artist Point

  • California Grill

  • Victoria and Albert's

Dh and I are trying to keep costs down for our semi-last minute trip to WDW. We want to do one nice expensive meal while we are there. I was thinking Artist Point since we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, but DH also wants to consider the California Grill (though we went there last time) and Victoria and Albert's. My concern about V&A is that I'm a somewhat picky eater, and I'm not sure I would enjoy a lot of the things on the menu there. And while I loved the California Grill when we went, I sort of want to do something different. Is Artist Point really great? What did you like best about it? Is there another place that you loved that I am not thinking of? Oh, we also did the Yahtsman last time, and while it was amazing, we are going to skip that one this time around.

I have added a poll if you would like to vote. Thanks!

Thanks in advance,

Given that you are trying to keep costs down, I voted for AP instead of V&A's. If cost wasn't an object then V&A's would win hands down. The price differential is pretty significant between V&A's and either AP or CG.

I voted for AP over CG, for location and a more interesting menu. Its very different from what you'll find elsewhere (including outside of Disney), so its an opportunity that doesn't come along often.

V&A is clearly the best--but it's not for picky eaters.
Flying Fish, Citricos and Jiko all come to mind as nice spots--in fact ANY of the Signature restaurants are good.

We went to CG in June - it was the worst meal we had all week! My DS ordered his steak Med Rare. It came burnt. We sent it back and the next one came almost raw!:scared1: Never again.

I think there is a huge difference in atmosphere between CG and AP. CG is very popular due to the fireworks viewing. It can be loud and child filled.

We have found AP to be much more low key. It is in the grogeous resort, the restaurant tends to be more adults than families (YMMV), and just a great night for us. We tend to pick AP over CG.

Great observations. It matches our experience exactly, which is why we go to AP as well.

for Artist Point based on the information you provided. The two main things are that you want to try something new and you're staying at the Wilderness Lodge. It might for better after dinner relaxation to walk the WL grounds at night than have to worry about transportation back to your resort.

I voted for Artist Point for the impeccable service, romantic atmosphere, and great menu! It is our favorite restaurant at Disney and we will be eating there again the first night of our trip!

I have never been to V&A so cannot comment on it, but I have been to CG and Artist point. Based on the fact that you went to CG last year and are staying at WL I recommended Artist Point.

We love our meals at both, but if you have never been to Artist point, go for it, it is wonderful and quiet (at least when we were there).

Just wondering what the OP decided and how it was.

We love Artist Point. I love the buffalo steak, and my wife loves the salmon on a cedar plank. I say go for Artist Point.

I voted for Artists Point, but I have to say that one of the biggest sellers that makes this an extra great meal is the comfy atmosphere of the WL resort :cloud9:

Great atmosphere, great food, and great company makes a perfect meal for me :goodvibes
