One more view question. BWV preferred?

I just realized that I have stayed BWV standard before...but never preferred. I have no idea what to request. Can anyone comment on what they request or try to avoid at BWV preferred? Every room still has a full balcony, right?

The rooms facing Epcot...are those preferred? What can you see? MGM facing rooms?

Pool view rooms are preferred, right? Are they noisy?

How noisy are the boardwalk view rooms? Any other reason to avoid them?

Favorite Floor #'s for any reason?

Thanks in advance. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jmkst58 ~
While I'm certain there are many very nice PV BW rooms, I did not get one of them this summer. It was a studio on the 4th floor (#4131). Had this been a SV room I would have considered it excellent. But for PV points I felt a little ripped-off. I'd say 75-80% of the view is the valet parking lot. In fact, this is all you can see if you're in the room and just looking out the window/doors. When we stepped out on the balcony and look 90 degrees to the right, we saw TOT off in the distance and could see the Friendship boat going down the canal. This part was nice, but the parking lot view really was the disappointment in that we used Preferred points. All day long, on and off, service and delivery trucks could be seen (and heard) going up and down the service area driveway just in front of the parking lot.
I know if we stay here again, I'll request to be away from this room. It was also about the 3rd room from the very end of the hallway---thus a pretty long walk to the elevator. There's a thread here on these boards that will explain precisely (or nearly) how long I'm referring to. I think had my view been better, I wouldn't have minded the walk as much, but the combination of semi-poor view AND the long walk was not what my expectations were for a PV room if you know what I mean. And again, had this room been SV points, I would have thought it fine. My studio did have a balcony. Not sure what size room/villa you're getting.
I thought the views of the main pool were cool (very lively and colorful)---I would have enjoyed a room here much more (not sure how noisy or not they were though)---and of course a BW view would have been nice but I only booked 60 days out or so and didn't really expect a BW view. Also, I believe people have been happy with PV rooms that overlook the quiet pool. But then again, keep in mind, "some" of these rooms are a stiff walk to the elevator also.
I'm definitely not a BWV expert, but just thought I'd lend you my personal experience. The resort is very nice overall. Have a nice stay.

Thank you Maria. Sorry to hear about your view. I do know all about that walk to the elevator....ughhhh. I've just booked for the end of Feb. so I probably don't have much hope either, but I guess it can't hurt to request something or to atleast NOT request your old room #. :D Thanks so much for the info.

There are two categories of PV at BWV now....Boardwalk View and Garden/Pool View. Same number of points, so it's a personal preference and availability that will determine where you stay.

We stayed in a PV room overlooking the quiet pool and thought it was awesome! It was indeed a quiet room and we had a great view of Tower of Terror just across the canal. We could also hear the music from Fantasmic each night on our balcony. There are a couple of rooms there that don't have a balcony that you go onto from the Master bedroom in a 1BR...only a small balcony off of the "living room". That's because of an awning that blocks the balcony...I think it affects 2 or three rooms at the most, and it was no big deal.

The long walk to the room is way overblown unless someone has a medical condition. In that case, just request a room near the elevator and let MS know about the medical need.

We have stayed in a preferred view and always request the BW view. You would think it would be noisy, but you would be pleasantly surprised. You hardly hear a thing when you go to bed. The views are great too. We usually get a room above the carnaval style games. It's great being able to sit out on your balcony and watch all the people. It's very magical. If you have any more questions, feel free to PM me. We are going back down in April to stay at BWV and can not wait!!!
