I posted a few days ago about the quickest transportation to each park from BC. A veteran from this board gave me this advice.

1. MK - Bus
2. Epcot - Go out the back door, turn left, and walk about 3 minutes.
3. AK - Bus
4. DS - Boat or walk

I want to make sure I understand about the Epcot advice. Since there are two entrance, I want to make sure we go to the entrance where the rides are. Is the Epcot avice correct?

Thanks!

Brent

this entrance is in world showcase but it is not a far walk to the rides from there.

If you want to enter directly where the rides are then you should use the main entrance. The entrance by the BC is into the back of WS.

The only way to get to the front, or Future World entrance from the BC is to drive or take a taxi. There is no Disney transportation from BC to front entrance of Epcot.

For the purposes of rope drop in the morning, I guess I will take a taxi or walk around to the main entrance.

We always stay at Beach Club and never take a cab to Epcot. Just go through WS and into FW from the back side. You'll still get there at rope drop and avoid the mob scene at the main entrance. You'll get to Soarin maybe 2 or 3 minutes behind the mob, which shouldn't affect your wait time at all. Plus you can avoid the pushing and shoving.

I guess that leaves the taxi!:woohoo:

people have said you go in throuh the International Gateway and when you get to the rides are, a CM will escort, via the roped line to the rides section, like in the front.

You can search for more details.

Personally I think a taxi would be a big waste of money. We just walked in from IG earlier this year and we were at the rope on the WS side of the fountain - only about 10 people total (with hundreds lined up on the rope on the other side of the plaza) and we were first behind the CMs walking to Soarin'.

There is some chance that they may hold you at the IG turnstiles until 9 AM, but they haven't really been doing that in the last 6 months or so, but letting everyone in up to a rope on the WS side of the fountain.

To me, one of the absolute best things about staying at BC (or any Epcot resort, but BC is closest) is walking into Epcot through the IG.

I agree completely with Vickie. We stay at BCV and LOVE walking through the IG into Epcot. A cab is unnecessary.

There are two entrances, as you already know...the main entrance, into FutureWorld..where the main parking lot is, where the monorail and the buses drop you off, and the 'back door', International Gateway. The Intl Gateway is the entrance those of us at the S/D, YC/BC and BW use...all the time.
If the park opens at 9am, you are allowed to enter through the Intl Gateway around 8:50ish. You then walk to the 'bridge-like' section, that joins the two lands....and you are allowed up towards the fountain area. There you are held until the park officially opens. You can look across the fountain and see those who have used the main entrance, also waiting.
It is very seldom that you aren't allowed in several minutes before park opening at the IG. If that should happen to you, go to Guest Services and complain...later in the day, not right then!! This is the only way we are going to have the same perks that those not staying at the Epcot resorts get...fair is fair.
It is about an 8 min walk from point A to point B in the morning. And it is really nice to see the countries, well Cananda and England anyway, without any other guests around.

We have stayed at the Boardwalk twice which is right near the BC and never had a problem making rope drop rides by using the IG. In fact I prefer it, less people trying to get through. I love just checking out the scenery too.

I think you're over-thinking this. You won't have any problems walking through the International Gateway. Honestly, a taxi would be a huge waste of money and time.

I guess it's hard for me to understand because I have not been there to see how it works. When I look at the schedule for Epcot, it says that FW opens at 9am(8am for EMH) and WS opens at 11am. So you guys are telling me that I can go right through the IG to get to FW 30 minutes before rope drop instead of going around to the main gate with the others? Please forgive me if I'm being thick here but between the UG advice and the veterans here, my head is spinning. I would have to go through the IG at 7:30am to get to the ropes and I guess I didn't realize that you could do that. :confused3

Thanks,

Brent

We stayed at the BC, and went through the IG. That entrance puts you a little behind (very little) those entering the main entrance. Just walk.

You need a Robo map.

I know it is all very confusing.

I think what you do not realize is how close you are to the IG. Yes WS is closed but the walkway to get to FW is not. They let you in and walk with everyone until a CM stops you. We have NEVER had an issue getting on rides or getting a FP.

The attractions in WS don't open until 11, which isn't of any concern--you'll simply be walking through a small section of it (UK and Canada) to get to FW.

Yes

I would have to go through the IG at 7:30am to get to the ropes
I normally leave my room at the BC around 8:30 for a 9:00 rope drop and have always been within the first 20 or so people.
