I wanted to thank all of you for all of the good information that I have gathered here. We are getting very close to making a decision to buy soon. My question concerns renting points. We are in a position to buy now and may take advantage of MB, but we won't be able to travel until late 2004. Is it safe to plan on renting my 2003 points? Has anyone been unsuccessful in trying to rent?

I rented my points for the first time last summer, and it was pretty easy. However, I must caution you that in order to really be successful you will need about 3 uninterrupted days to answer emails, and attempt to arrange reservations. The emails are the worst because you don't know who is serious about renting your points, and who isn't. And you will get 70-100 emails. Many of those people are just "trolling", being nosy about price and available dates. You will earn every cent of the money you receive from renting out your points!!

hi, i thought that magical beginnings meant that they bought back your 2003 points and you did not get points till 2004. i may be wrong but that is what i thought.please correct me if i am wrong.:p

Why not just bank your 2003 points and take a grander vacation the next year? Or take the cruise?

We rented points once but haven't used the rent and trade board. MY DH went to his office and asked if anyone was planning a trip to WDW and would be interested in renting points. We had NO problem finding interested people. Now they come to him and ask when we might have points to rent again. Depending on your job situation, this might work for you. It was definitely easy and hassle-free for us.

Banking the points into 2004 would work too--and you could have a SUPER vacation that year.
