We have done the Eastern Carribean route with another cruise line. We have been to Haiti (spelling??), St. Lucia, St. Maarten, Antigua (spelling) and St Thomas. We have also traveled to Cozmel.

So, we were wondering how does Nassau compare to these other ports of call? We are trying to decide whether we should get off the boat in Nassau or just enjoy the boat amenities.

Thanks in advance for your opinions and advice. We'll be traveling with children.

Thanks,

Tina

STAY ON THE BOAT!!! unless you are going to go over to Atlantis for the day Nassau is nothing great....actually sort of dirty.

Stay on the boat! I wish we did, infact we only were in nassau for about an hour and our son BEGGED to go back. It is filthy, the people harrass you (if I heard "braid your hair lady? one more time I was going to scream) and the only entertainment was haggling at the straw market.

I agree. Stay on the boat! It is way at the bottom compared to St Thomas, Cozumel, and St Maarten. In these ports we have not been followed and harrassed by people like we were in Nassau. You shouldn't have to spend money on an excursion at a port! The cruise lines must be making a killing at Nassau though, as it really is the only option if you want to get off the ship. The filth is deplorable for a town that makes so much money from tourists.
