One more question about Asheville, NC?

If you had ONE very special place to go for a romantic dinner, where would you go? It will be the week of our 7th anniversary when we are there.

Papa... There are lots of good places, but I'll give you a couple of options to go with.

1) Tupelo Honey -located in downtown Asheville. If you don't mind an eclectic mix of culture, downtown is a great place to go at night for dinner. Tupelo Honey offers excellent southern cuisine. You and the Mrs could take a lovely stroll around downtown while you are there.

2) Biltmore House restaurant -more formal; I know one of the chefs (ask if Curt is working); they make a prime rib that is so good it will make you cry -absolutely the best steak I have ever had.

1. Is on our "must do" list, but is it a romantic place? The website doesn't seem to make it sound that way.

2. Hard to believe, but we are skipping Biltmore entirely. We only have 2 and a half days without the kids. We visit NC almost every year. Our agenda includes Grove Acrade and meandering the whole downtown area. We also plan to do Chimney Rock. And take a trip to Pisgah Inn. Maybe Pisgah Inn is special enough for a romantic dinner?

I am SO looking forward to this trip. I just LOVE NC! I can find EVERYTHING I love in ONE STATE!

We ate at Gabrielle's at the Richmind Hill Inn while in Asheville on our Honeymoon 13yrs ago. It was wonderful!

Just wanted to say we loved Chimney Rock, it was beautiful. When are you going? I took DH, before he was DH, to Ashville when we were in college as a surprise. We went to the candlelight Christmas at the Biltmore, but we missed our dinner reservations because we had a flat tire. I can't even remember where we ended up eating. The next day we did Chimney rock, it was a beautiful November day, the leaves were changing and we had the best time. Enjoy!

If you are going to Chimney Rock, Flat rock is close by. The Highland Lake Inn is a bed and breakfast resort and the restaurant, Seasons is wonderful. they use mostly organic food, great preparation and presentation, small, quiet and romantic.

I'd go to Grove Park Inn. They have a restaurant on their terrace with a fabulous view!

I love love love Black Forest. That's where we had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding. I actually talked about it a little on the other thread. It's run by Germans who actually still spend a lot of time in Germany. It offers German, Italian, and steaks. Really good, in a chalet-like atmosphere.

I liked Tupelo Honey but I don't consider it romantic. The night we were there the wait was 45 mins (very crowded) but try to eat there. Loved the baked sweet potato and the vineyard steak.

Yep, we were just there last weekend! :teeth: It wasn't too romantic with the mobs of kids though... :rotfl:
