Any thoughts or opinions on one over the other? The Fairfield Inn is $60 more (total for our stay) but we almost always stay at Marriots and have never stayed at a Best Western before.

Things that are important to us are cleanliness and proximity to the parks/restaraunts.

Thanks so much for everyone's help! We are excited to go to Disneyland for the first time!

The trade-off between these two, in my mind is proximity versus recently-renovated decor.

BWPPI wins for proximity. It's right at the crosswalk. It's clean, but the decor is dated.

Fairfield wins for room decor and more recent renovations. And the pool is slightly bigger, I think. It's a longer walk from the parks, but is totally within walking distance. It has a Mimi's Cafe in the parking lot.

It comes down to what your personal priority is. Either is a fine choice, as far as I'm concerned.

If it were my choice, I'd go with the BWPPI. It's just SO close. And I'd use the extra $60 for a character meal or for a dinner at a table service place. But that's just my priorities. You need to pick what's right for you and your family. :)

We stay at Marriotts a lot too and we stayed at the FFI about two years ago during a DLR visit. That might have been before renovations or something because we thought it was adequate but not as nice as other FFI's we've stayed at or other similar Marriott brands like Courtyard.

We are trying the BWPPI in a few weeks. I would stay at the FFI again but I wouldn't be excited about it.

We have never stayed at FFI, but we have stayed many times at BWPPI. You mentioned your priorities were cleanliness and proximity to the parks. BWPPI is very close. The closest, actually. I have always found it to be clean, and in good repair. Not fancy, but that's not what we look for at DL. Another thing you may consider, BW includes breakfast. That will save you even more money! Good luck with your decision.

I have stayed at both. I stayed at Fairfield Inn last weekend and was not too impressed. It was a further walk and I did not feel like paying more got us any added amenities. Best Western is very clean and right at the crosswalk. I like it better.

We just came back from a 5 night stay at the Fairfield. We paid $89 a night (through Last Minute Travel).

It's a decent hotel...just a little bit farther down from the Best Western (like a 2 minute walk). It was very clean, nice pool. Super comfy beds. Can't complain...we would go back there again. For the price, I thought it was a great hotel.

Here's the review I wrote for TripAdvisor:

Friendly and quick check in. Helpful front desk staff. Our room was not ready when we arrived, we were told they would call us when it was ready, but they never did. Not a big problem though because it was ready when we came back.

Rooms open to an exterior hallway, which always concerns me because it can be noisy....but we didn't hear a thing from the hallway or from neighbouring rooms. Good view of the fireworks if you are on the front side of the hotel.

The room was a good size, very clean. Basic toiletries were provided (shampoo, conditioner and soap) and were re-stocked daily. Love the extra towels we got (6 or 7 instead of the usual 3). The beds were very comfortable...we slept very well. There is a fridge in the room, which is a plus. No safe though...which was a bit disappointing. The tub wouldn't drain after our first shower and it was fixed immediately (they even left a little note, apologizing for the inconvenience and if it still wasn't working to contact them again).

Pizza Hut is located on the 3rd floor that serves breakfast...and they also have some other food/snacks there (cereal, breakfast bars). There is a well stocked gift shop in the lobby. There are computers in the lobby that you can use to print off your boarding passes....LOVE THAT!!!

We would certainly stay here again. It's a good, friendly, clean hotel within walking distance to the parks. Hope to be back again soon!!

Both the Fairfield Inn and the BW PPI are clean and are within walking distance to the parks.

Decor - I found the decor at Fairfield Inn to be slightly better than at BW PPI, but not to the extend that one was markedly better than the other.

Distance - The BW PPI is closer and after a long day in the park, the slight difference might not seem so slight. :rotfl2:

Cleanliness - Both rooms were very clean and nothings stood out as a problem. Plenty of towels, toiletries, etc. in both rooms.

Parking - Both places charge for parking, but finding parking at BW PPI is easier. Plus they have a set policy for check-out day (must be out of the lot by 3 pm). Fairfield Inn was vague when I asked them ("you can stay if there is room" type answer).

Overall - the two hotels were pretty much equal in terms of cleanliness, with Fairfield having slightly better decor. However, BW PPI is the closest hotel/motel to DL and, for my family, nothing beats that after a full day in the park! :goodvibes
