I am on the edge of buying at Kidani for the opportunity to buy into GCV when it comes available.

I am starting to reconsider though. I will typically stay at Cali much more often than WDW and am becoming very concerned about the 7 month booking window.

With only 50 villas available at GCV, and hearing all of the stories on the boards about accessiblity at 7 months, I wonder if it would be a mistake, and I would never be able to get a room using my Kidani points.

What do you all think? You are the experts!

There will actually be more than fifty villas because of the room configurations (for instance, a 2 bdrm can be a 1 bdrm and a studio). So that may help a little.

If it's something you're truly concerned about, why not just buy the minimum of 100 pts @ AKV to get your foot in the door as that will give you the opportunity to be first in line to buy GCV. Then you could either keep the AKV pts and rent them out to basically help offset the cost of the GCV membership, use them yourself, or sell the contract. I don't think they will keep the minimum buy-in @ 100 pts for long, so that should make it a very attractive contract on the resale market.

I'd wait and buy GC.

Even though it is going to be rather small, I do not think GC will completely sell out before it is offered to the general public. Don't let the hype on the boards push you into buying WDW DVC if you reallly want DL DVC. You may be able to sell Kidani on the resale market later, but you will lose money when you do.

It's hard to wait, but if you really will stay mostly in CA, then that is where you need the 11 month booking advantage. Don't settle for anything else.

After many hours of angst and forcing myself to exert extravagent self control, we decided to wait!

As soon as I decided I felt better.

I hope they are selling when we go back next April for my daughter's wedding!!!
