Hi everyone! My name is Andrea aka AAshleySEG. This is going to be my very first TR. Why, you may ask, have I not done one before? Well, the truth of the matter is that I never really thought about it. I have read other TR's before and found them very helpful to me when planning trips. I have also been on numerous Disney vacations. It seems only natural that I should have done one already, well I haven't. I guess I never really wanted to put the time necessary into making a really good one, and I didn't want mine to fall short. So this time, I am planning early, getting everything together, and going step by step, so my TR will be as complete as possible!

To start out with I am going to tell you a little about myself! I am 27 years old and am of course am in love with everything Disney! I am married to my amazingly wonderful husband Jeremy (30). Pictured below, this was 2 weeks before our wedding on June 16th 2007.

Me13.jpg

I have been to WDW numerous times, beginning with a trip in 1990 when I was 6 years old, from which the ONLY thing I remember is waiting in line to ride 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, and then being too scared to get on it. I have no idea why that is what memory lives on...but it is, most likely because I cannot ever ride that particular attraction again. The second time I went to Disney was definitely more meaningful. I had Leukemia when I was 11 years old and was fortunate enough to be able to go on a Make-A-Wish trip to WDW in 1997. I have so many wonderful memories from that trip that I will cherish forever. That is the trip which started my Disney FEVER! Jeremy and myself have been to Disney, more times now than I can count. I wish I had counted when we started going...unfortunately me being the person that I am...we did not. However, Jeremy and I got engaged at MK in front of the castle during Wishes! He couldn't have done it at a more perfect moment, I know everyone knows the part of Wishes which states "Now let's all put our hearts together and make a wish come true?" Well THAT, is when he proposed. We spent our honeymoon at DL in California

All anniversaries have been spent at a Disney Park so far. 1st, 2nd, and 4th at WDW, 3rd at Disneyland Paris, and our 5th is going to be on the Disney Wonder to Alaska, but that is another TR all together when it happens in June. Now that you know a little bit about me I want to tell you about this particular Trip Report!

When we heard on New Years Eve that Walt Disney World was going to be open for 24 hours we were ecstatic and KNEW we wanted to be a part of that. So the next day after the holidays were over and I was able I booked my trip right away! We ended up booking AKL Kidani Village, I was happy about that, it seems to be our go to resort when we go. There is usually always availability there and it suits us just fine! Ever since then I had been planning away making reservations, figuring out what we wanted to do with all of that time and so on and so forth! So that brings us to now. Our trip is over and I have loads of memories to share with you all, and myself for that matter. I am also making a magazine simultaneously as a keepsake for us, and will share that with everyone after the TR has been completed. I do not have as many photos as I would like for this very first TR, I was trying to save memory card space for the 24 hours because I knew I was going to take loads of pictures that day, and I did. So with that in mind there is going to be a little more writing than photos in this one, but bear with me I will definitely have photos for you! Well with all of that said, I hope you guys join me and enjoy my TR! Here is the Plan of how things will hopefully roll out!

Day 1 - Kidani, Tables in Wonderland, and Paradiso 37

Day 2 - Disney's Hollywood Studios, 50's Prime Time Cafe & EPCOT Teppan Edo

Day 3 - Whispering Canyon Cafe, Our first encounter with Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, and Jiko

Day 4 - Tusker House Restaurant, Sanaa, and early to bed early to rise!

Day 5 - ONE MORE DISNEY DAY! 24 Hours at the Magic Kingdom or so we hope ;)

Day 6 - Victoria & Albert's WHOA that's a lot of food!

Day 7 - Can't we play Sorcerers a little more before we leave?

We wanted to leave decently early on Saturday morning, well decently enough for us anyway, which would be about 7:00am. We have 4 dogs, Saghani (Alaskan Malamute), Bear (Lab/Chow Mix), Arya and Quorra (2 miniature schnauzers). Everytime we go on a trip I am fortunate enough to have my mother house and dog sit for us. So we had packed the car up, she was meeting us at our house before we left to make sure everything was in order. Making last minute preperations Jeremy realized that we didn't have enough dog food for the big puppies, luckily we can almost see the grocery store from our house, so while we were waiting on my mom to get here he decided to run and pick that up at the store. As soon as he pulled back into the driveway my mom pulled in right behind him! Everything squared away we hopped in the car and set off on our 8 hour drive to Walt Disney World! Usually Jeremy drives but this time around I was the one behind the wheel. Jeremy has what is called Miniere's Disease which long story short is an inner ear disease which affects balance and hearing. He had a horrible attack the night before we left and I was worried that we might have to postpone our trip, but luckily by the morning everything was perfectly fine, with the exception that I was now driving instead of him. That is perfectly fine with me, this drive might sound like a really long one, but it is almost second nature to us now.

I don't need directions, I know where we usually stop for gas, so it usually passes by pretty quickly, I remember that we did stop at Chick-Fil-A and had chicken mini's for breakfast, we stopped for gas in Columbia, SC, and near St. Augustine, FL, I think we just ate snacks for lunch and before you know it we were passing under those glorious arches of Walt Disney World! Everytime I go past them I wonder..hmmm...I wonder how bad you would get punished if you did stop to take a photo. But I never do it. It is CLEARLY marked that you are not supposed to stop there for any reason. Although when we were leaving I did see a van stopped there taking a photo, and I was thinking, umm...can they not see those signs everywhere that says specifically not to stop? Oh well, so we are DVC members, and I had done online check-in so it was a breeze when we arrived at Kidani. I hopped out of the car ran in, got our Keys to the World, and we went and parked the car. That is one thing I absolutely love about Kidani is that there is covered parking! It gets a little annoying if you have to park at Jambo house and then walk a really long way. At Kidani you just park and take the elevator up and it is really close to your room! I didn't realize how chilly it was outside until later...

We went up to the room dropped our bags, did the prerequisite look outside to see what animals we could see. I guess they were all cold too because I didn't see any at all. Then we headed out the door to catch the bus to Downtown Disney! We had dinner reservations at Paradiso 37 at 6:15 so we figured we would do a little wondering around first before dinner. When we got to DD the first thing we did was go straight to Guest Services to get our Tables in Wonderland Card. Since we were going to Victoria and Albert's this time, the card would pay for itself with that one Dining Experience, so everything else we did would be a bonus 20% off! If you go to Disney a lot I would definitely recommend getting one, definitely worth it in my book! We saved loads on this trip alone! While I was getting the card Jeremy decided he wanted to walk next door to Team Mickey and see if there was any new Dodger merchandise that he could get. After I got the card I joined him and he was smitten with the MLB Vinylmations which we never did find a Dodger one, we found almost all the other teams and we made it a point to check the actual vinylmation stores to see if they had any.

Next we headed over to the LEGO Imagination Center. That place is always packed out but luckily it was still a little early and we could actually move around in there this time! I really wanted to get the VW Camper Van and put it together. I decided to wait and it was getting close to dinner time so we headed out of there and over to Paradiso 37. I usually like to get to my ADR's about 15 minutes early. We walked right up and a huge party had just been seated outside, so this is where the chilly factor comes in. It wasn't so much that it was cold but that it was blustery, the wind was very chilly so I was apprehensive to sit outside when the hostess asked, then she said the patio was heated and we agreed. We were taken to the patio and would you believe it we had the farthest table away from the heaters. Everyone else looked nice and toasty sitting next to them but I absolutely was freezing to death. To top it off we apparently had the same server who was taking care of the large party, so we sat at our table for 15 minutes, and no one came over. Jeremy went to ask the hostesses and they had no idea, so the manager sent another server over to take care of us. She was a really great server so now that was sorted out we ended up getting Chips and Salsa right away to try and take our minds off how cold we were. When I think about it, I really should have just asked for a table inside, it would have made that whole experience a lot better. I ended up ordering the Shrimp Burrito and Jeremy got the Baha Fish Tacos. Hands down, he won. Those were probably the best fish tacos I have ever tasted in my life. Don't get me wrong, my burrito was good, just not nearly as good as his. After a minute or two our food was cold because of the wind so we tried to just eat as fast as we could and pay and get the heck out of dodge so to speak. We had planned on going to Fuego afterward for some drinks and he was going to have a cigar but we decided against it this time. On our way back to the buses we thought dessert sounded good so in to Goofy's Candy Co. we went! I got a Rice Krispie treat covered in White Chocolate and Reces Pieces, which I am still eating to this day, and He got a Smore! At least I won that time because we both liked mine better! Food score was tied now 1-1 :rotfl: We got back to the hotel and decided to just turn in early, I guess you could say we were trying to train ourselves to go to sleep because on Tuesday night we needed to be in bed at 7:30 or so since we were planning on getting up so early! So that was our first day! I wonder what tomorrow has in store?

Ooooh please continue! I'm dying to hear about the Sorcerers in the Magic Kingdom thing!! I usually try to stay FARRRR away from the MK during March/April but I kind of want to sneak in when we're home in a couple weeks just to play!!!!

Yay! Glad you could join me!

Alright Now where did we leave off? Oh I remember!

I woke up pretty early this second morning, well early for me at about 7:00 or so. Got up took my shower and did my usual morning routine. Jeremy of course takes his shower at night so all he has to do is brush his teeth, get dressed, and he is ready for the day! We had some ADR's later today so we didn't want to go crazy with breakfast or anything. I actually think we didn't even eat any breakfast shame on us! So now that we were ready I debated on whether or not to bring my camera to the parks today, and I really should have, so I made an unfortunate decision when I left it in the room. :confused3

By now it was about 8:45 and Hollywood Studios opened at 9:00am so I knew we were going to be a bit late for rope drop. Which means I knew we needed to head over to Toy Story Midway Mania to make sure I could get a fast pass asap! When the bus pulled up it was eerily quiet and empty at the main gate. I thought I might have gotten opening time wrong or maybe my watch was wrong, but that didn't make sense because my phone and the clocks in the room would have had to have been wrong as well. Nope it was the correct time, but it was so empty? No line for the fastpasses at Toy Story, so we walked straight up and got fastpasses for 30 minutes later which was awesome compared to what I am used to! Then we decided to walk around a bit. We walked over to streets of America, still no one in sight and took the opportunity for Jeremy to Sing In The Rain, luckily I did have my phone so I got to snap this shot. As many times as he has been here he had no idea that this umbrella was here, he couldn't believe it!

SiningInTheRain.jpg

By this time I guess it was 9:10 or something like that so Mater and Lightning were out, no line for them...I'm telling you guys I have never seen this park so empty in my life! It was crazy! I really wished I would have brought my camera to take some photos of anything I wanted with no people in the background of them! It would have been fantastic, a photographer's dream if you ask me! So we walked up and started talking to the CM and PhotoPass photographer and took a few quick shots of Jeremy being mean and poking Mater in the eye and then being scolded by me and the PhotoPass Photographer!

JeremyNMater.jpg

We talked to them for a little while, trying to find out if the park has been this empty recently and then the CM said, everyone is probably over at TSMM, and we were like...umm, no we just came from there and it was empty too? All of us were just darn perplexed with this. Ah well, we said goodbye to Lightning and Mater and walked our way over to Star Tours, hopped on that with no wait at all, I believe we went to Naboo. After we rode it once Jeremy made his usual statement about wanting to ride every scenario, so we went on it again, this time we were chased by Boba Fett. By then we were ready to head back over and ride Toy Story Mania! We have such a blast riding it, Jeremy and I are very competitive with each other when it comes to this one as well as Buzz Lightyear over at the MK! For some reason I have gotten really good at Buzz but still can't quite figure TSMM. I was happy with the outcome I think I got highest score in the car this go round at like 157000 or something like that, but at least I did beat Jeremy...mwahahahaha! Now that it was 9:50 we were running out of options...LOL, ok not really but Backlot Tour was closed for refurb, so next we chose to go over to Tower of Terror, we made our way down there and would you believe it, we didn't have to wait at all for it either! So within a short time span we rode Star Tours twice, Toy Story Midway Mania, AND ToT! Our tummies were rumbling a little when we finished ToT and those pastries always look yummy so we couldn't resist! I think we got a Chocolate Muffin and split it to tide us over to our lunch ADR at 11:30! :woohoo:

Next on our agenda since we were so close was Rockin Roller Coaster and yet again No wait at all...this was starting to be some sort of strange parallel Disney universe or something! I mean really the 4 most popular attractions no wait time? What gives? THEN eureka, I had a revelation. It was Princess Marathon Weekend! Most of the people were probably running the race or maybe just finishing it and needed a rest? That had to be it right? Well that's my theory and I'm sticking to it! Well unless someone tells me otherwise, then I'll probably take their opinion :lmao: After RRC we putz'd around a bit looking in shops and walking all the way around the park until our ADR which was at Prime Time Cafe! Yummy! Wanna know what we ate??? :wizard:

So we walked up to 50's Prime Time a little early as usual for us but we went straight up to the desk no one in sight, and were seated right away! We love 50's PTC, although it is only Jeremy's seconds time eating there, it is one of his fav restaurants! I knew that for dessert I wanted s'mores so I didn't want to get anything too big. Jeremy on the other hand couldn't really decide what he wanted so he got a little bit of everything with the Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes which included fried chicken, pot roast and meatloaf with all the fixings! I opted for a lighter Spaghetti with "Meatballs" which is a vegetarian dish since the meatballs are meat-less! :hippie: While we were waiting on our food Jeremy decided to look something up on his cell phone, and now I don't even remember what it was, but I do remember him being yelled at from across the restaurant to put up his walkie-talkie! I couldn't help from laughing because everyone was staring at him, it was so worth going there just for that! Our food finally came and we had started up a conversation with the table across from us, they were a couple from Canada celebrating their 10th Anniversary and the lady ordered what Jeremy did and said it was delicious! They came to WDW about twice a year and weren't DVC members, I couldn't believe it, I guess because I know how much it saves us! So about that time our food came and everything was so wonderful we both cleaned out plates! When we ordered dessert we were awarded with out stickers!
CleanPlateClub.jpg

We had a blast talking to our server, she was a DVC member also and had just gotten back from Aulani in Hawaii! JEALOUS! Then we told her that we were going on a cruise to Alaska, and she said that the Canadians were also going to Alaska! What a strange coincidence, I wish I had known to find out what date they were going, oh well, if I were meant to ask I would see them again somewhere ;). While we were waiting on our s'mores a table was seated right next to us, but when the server came up they didn't want to eat anything just have milkshakes and drinks, I was thinking why would you wait for a table to do that? They have such an awesome bar area here? But anyway, when she came to take their order, they were informed that they couldn't sit at a table, which I thought was odd as well. They had to go to the bar anyway! :rotfl: Geez, those s'mores were so good I can still taste them...yummmm! Another use of our Tables in Wonderland card and away we went.

One our way out J needed to make a quick pit stop, and then we decided to take the boat over to EPCOT. We knew we needed to be there later today because we had an ADR for Teppan Edo at 8:20 that night. I love riding the Friendship boats, they are some of my favorites! It does take a little while to get around to EPCOT considering you stop at Swan & Dolphin, Beach & Yacht and Boardwalk before EPCOT, but it is so much more relaxing and picturesque than riding a bus all of the time! The boat Captain was a female earning her ears, she was so nice! Asking about our stickers and what we ate at 50's, what our plans were at EPCOT and so on, and for a earning her ears she was an AWESOME boat driver...driver? I feel like driver means a bus but I can't think of what else to say? Anyway, we finally made it to EPCOT and knew that we wanted to get a Fast Pass for Soarin', we hadn't ridden it the past few Disney trips and we definitely wanted to this time around! Soarin FP's in hand for 5:30-6:30 and it being 1:20 we knew that we had a lot of time to do other things before we had to be back there! So we walked over and hopped on Living With The Land. No matter how many times I ride it, I always see something I have never seen before, and I have always wanted to do the Behind The Seeds Tour, alas every time we say something about, it just kind of gets pushed out of our heads and gets the "We'll do it next time"....no matter. Leaving the Land Pavillion we saw Chip & Dale making an appearance with a huge line...so that's where all the people are, standing in line for C&D :rotfl: Jeremy and I absolutely adore Journey Into Imagination with Figment, on our way down in the car there is this place on I-95 that just smells HORRIBLE!! If you have driven down it you know what I am talking about, and when we hit that piece we can't help but sing, "One awful whiff can send you reeling, one lovely sniff can be appealing, your mind defines what enters through your nose, that's how you tell a skunk is not a rose" It is one of those must ride type things for us every single time we go to EPCOT, there is hardly ever a wait for it, and it is just so funny, besides one of the coolest attraction exits is there! :thumbsup2

We walked out of Figment and had an overwhelming scent of popcorn wafting through the air, I seriously wanted to get some, but I knew I didn't want to spoil my appetite for later AND I absolutely knew that we would be getting some on our MK days, that is the quintessential Disney treat that I love the most! I usually even get more than one bucket to take back home with me, one time I even got 6! popcorn:: Anyway, back on track we headed over to the opposite side of Future World and wanted to try out Mission Space Green because we have only ever ridden Orange and we needed a new experience. I was thinking man, this is gonna be super boring compared to the other one, it doesn't even spin, so are we just gonna watch the screen in the capsule and not move or anything? NO, I was totally wrong!, you still get pretty much the same exact sensations that you do in the Orange Mission with the exception that this one doesn't cause motion sickness...I was so shocked, I actually prefer the Green over the Orange, who knew? I am really glad we chose to try it out because Green is the way to go for me from now on, unless I bring someone with me who has never ridden it, then we will probably go back to the Orange for them to have the whole experience! We took a short break after riding and watched the Mission Space Advanced Training Labs, I think there were only maybe 5 people in there or something. Moving on we went to check out how long with wait was for Test Track on our way to get a Frozen Coca-Cola, the line was out the door! It said 50 minutes I think, but I thought , nah we can wait until later, we have a while here today. And then...OH NO Wash was closed :sad1: we could have always just gone over to the other side but we were being lazy, we walked into Mouse Gear and started looking around, we saw the MLB Vinylmations again...but No Dodger one, I mean really every single other team was represented as well as NBA and NFL teams...seriously??? Jeremy's feet were getting mad at him from the shoes he was wearing so we chose to return to Kidani for a shoe swap and for me to pick up my camera, we headed out to the bus stops and waited for only about 5 minutes and were whisked away back to the resort!

By the time he changed shoes and we made it back to the bus stop I think it was 4:45, I had a thought that I wanted to get my tripod to take some shots at EPCOT, so instead of taking the bus straight there we took it back to Hollywood where our car was with the tripod inside. I sat on a bench in front of Sorcerer Mickey topiary outside the entrance to Hollywood Studios while Jeremy quickly ran to the car to get the tripod. It turned out to be a wasted bit of time because I never did use the tripod...or the camera for that matter that night...I know, I know...shame on me. Again we chose to take the boat over to EPCOT and we should make it back just in time for out Soarin' flight....

I am glad to hear the milder Mission Space is still pretty cool. DH wasn't fond of orange, he doesn't like to spin, so maybe I can convince him to try this!

I know, I was totally taken aback with how cool it is! I feel like I should tell as many people as I can because of the people that write off riding Mission Space at all because of the spinning thing, and are afraid the green would just be boring :goodvibes I would definitely convince him to at least try it, I just can't figure out how they still give sensation without the spinning, it is a conundrum! :confused3

I PROMISE, to have photos soon! I know I don't have many for these first few days, but I have a MULTITUDE of them from the One More Disney Day, Day :) So bear with me and I will have plenty to show everyone! Now where were we...

We got off the boat (camera and tripod in tow) and walked over to the imagination pavilion, I wanted to see if I could get a few photos of the water spouting up over beside Captain EO, try as I might every time I would get a good shot set up, when I actually took the photo there would be something wrong with it, whether it be a person streaking across or the lighting wouldn't be right. I was getting frustrated, and I never like to be unhappy here, so I ditched the idea and we walked over to Soarin' for our flight! We were in quick as could be with our fast passes, and we even managed to get front row center, I was stoked, it doesn't happen that often, so I relished every moment of the forest and orange scents as we glided over California!

After Soarin' my mood was 100 times better, I wasn't even worried about the photos anymore, but it was getting about that time for the sun to start setting, and it was looking a little cloudy out too, I think there was only a 30%-60% chance of rain through the night so we were optimistic, but we did have an umbrella just in case! We walked over to Test Track and the wait time sign still said 50 minutes, but we couldn't even see anyone in line so we bit the bullet and walked in, and what do you know...there was NO wait at all. We walked straight in and around and up and went right into the holding room 2, to see what tests our car was going to be put through! I always love those Test Track photos, and how cool my hair always looks at the end of the ride! NOT, its always crazy, but well worth it! By now it was about 6:45 and we had an ADR at Teppan Edo for 8:20, we wanted to make it there to check in by about 8 so we headed toward World Showcase and into Mexico for a little Three Caballeros! No matter how many boat rides I go on at Disney, I still love them all! Each time I go on 3Cab I always think about how nice it would be to eat at San Angel but we still never have? Maybe next time we go I will make it a point to make a res there! I mean we love Mexican food, I am just really not sure why I have never made it a point to eat there?

We headed out of Mexico and walked onward to Norway and Maelstrom which had the longest wait I think we have had since we got here, I think the wait time was maybe 15 minutes or something, so it went by really quickly. We still had time to kill so it wasn't that big of a deal anyway. We wanted to stroll leisurely around the rest of the way to Japan, and check out the shops and see if there is anything we wanted, or have never seen before. By the time we got around there I believe it was 7:45, so Jeremy needed to make a quick put stop so I sat on a bench outside in the courtyard and waited on him, and when he returned we went in the shops! They had really cool stuff in there and a few things that I wish I had actually gotten, but I knew I would be going back soon so I wasn't too disappointed. It was now officially raining outside, not too bad though, but it was enough to need an umbrella. We went and check in at the podium and were informed that they were running a little behind tonight and that we wouldn't be seated until 8:30, I was bummed a little but it actually ended up being fine that we had to wait 30 minutes. We sat outside in the rain covered up by our umbrella together and talked about what we wanted to do tomorrow and gave our feet a rest. It was actually really nice and before you know it, our buzzer was buzzzzzzzin! We went upstairs, we kind of didn't know where to go exactly because we had never been there before, so a good point in the right direction from the hostess of Tokyo Dining we handed in our buzzer and were escorted to our table with our other table mates!

We were dining with a lovely family of 4 from Brazil, a mother, father, and 2 older sons, and another couple at the other end of the table! Everyone ordered drinks, all the adults except me got a beverage of the alcoholic persuasion...and I got water as usual. Jeremy got a small Japanese beer to begin with and when it came out it was like a baby beer, it was so cute and when we said "Cheers" and clinked glasses with the Brazilians it was kind of amusing how small his was compared to the other guy who had gotten a large one. I am almost certain the other couple got sake bombs, but we were so far away from them we didn't talk to them the entire experience, which was a shame because they looked very friendly! For an appetizer we ordered the Grilled Crispy Sukiyaki Beef Roll which is a house specialty and for dinner I got Ebi (Shrimp) and Jeremy got Asakusa (steak and shrimp combo). It wasn't long before our chef came out and prepared everything for us! It was an absolute blast and he made a Mickey Mouse volcano which was adorable! If anyone has never been to Teppan Edo I definitely recommend going, it is such a fun experince. Keep in mind though that if you have Tables in Wonderland, they do not accept it. I took a funny pic of Jeremy with the chef:
TeppanEdo.jpg

After he finished his tiny beer, he did eventually get a big boy beer...lol. I just stuck with my water! The food was WONDERFUL, not too much, not too little, its like they know just how much everyone needed to eat! For dessert I got the Green Tea Pudding, which was also very lovely and a great end to such an amazing meal! We were second to leave the table and said a lovely goodbye to the Brazilian family! We had to hurry, it was almost time for the last boat to leave to go back to Hollywood Studios. When we got outside it had stopped raining, but was a ghost town! We saw the boat in the distance and as we were walking over the bridge, we hoped that it would stay there until we got there! Luckily enough for us, they saw us walking over the bridge and were holding the boat just for us! We were so tired from going all over the place today, even though Hollywood was still open for 30 minutes or so we decided to go back to the car and head back to Kidani! On our way to the car randomly, the tripod broke...and we weren't even doing anything to it at that moment. Jeremy said he would fix it later, he eventually did and we were exhausted, we went back and went to bed, hopefully resting up for another eventful day tomorrow!

I have yet to try Teppan Edo, it's the only EPCOT TS I have never been to, but I went to Tpkyo dining- not the same! It looks like a blast...you guys seemed to have so much fun. i need to give it a try. I love hibachi.

There are still quite a few TS restaurants we have not been to at EPCOT, but yeah it was a BLAST! It was really empty toward our actual eating time as you can tell in the pic, but when we got there is was very lively and bustling with excitement and chefs flipping stuff all over the place! Definitely an experience that I want to have again!
