I can't believe its less than a month 'til we leave! We are going to Cirque du soleil for my birthday on the 24th. I made a PS for Rainforest cafe at DD for after the show. I can't remember the exact layout of Downtown Disney. Will we be able to walk from Cirque to RFK or should we hop back in the car and drive over?
TIA

Karen,

Cirque is on the far west end of DTD, and Rainforest Cafe is on the eastern end of the Marketplace. It is walkable - but it depends on the time of your PS, and when Cirque lets out.

It's likely easier just to drive over, but parking may be an issue.

Have a great trip!

Some advice: walk there or take the boat across!!!!

WHY???

Here is an excerpt from my 2003 WDW Trip Report:

Okay, so this was our anniversary celebration PLAN: Cirque at 6pm then we would drive
over to the Marketplace, put our names down for dinner at the Rainforest Cafe, do some shopping
at Downtown Disney, eat supper and then go pick up Deb & Miles at the
airport for 10:30 pm. No problem right? Sounds like a good plan to me!
We got in the car and headed over to Marketplace. Would you believe it took us 45 minutes to find a place to park!@!@!
We ran over to Rainforest Cafe to find out that the wait list for supper was 1 hr and 50 minutes!@!@!
So much for good planning! That would put us eating supper right about 10:30 when Deb & Miles
were landing in Orlando! Ok...so now what??? Every other place at D.D. has a wait list except for McDonalds!
NOOOOOO! We are NOT eating Mickey D's on our 5th wedding anniversary!
The only other thing we could think of was to just go to the airport and maybe eat at Chili's there.
Okay, not what we planned but still acceptable. We gas up the car, get to the airport and we notice that
everything in the food court except for Burger King is closed! We go up to Chili's and there was a couple
in front of us...they got seated and the lady asked us how many? Just as I was replying 2...the guy comes out
and says, sorry guys, kitchen is closed! He tells us we can go to the bar so I asked if we can eat at the bar and he
says no. Okay, by now we are starving! Rob is getting grumpy because with his hypoglycemia, he has to eat every few hours.
We look around and there is nothing! I just start walking towards the Hyatt in some desperate hope that there is a place that
we can grab a bite to eat in less than 30 minutes! We find the hotel, and there is one place open, it's called
McCoy's Bar & Grill...great, just what I wanted! I looked at the menu and couldn't even find anything I liked.
We found a seat and the waiter came by. We asked if it was Coke or Pepsi since we are diet-coke drinkers
and he replies Pepsi...it must be our night or something! We got 2 waters and a sandwich for Rob.
At this point I left the table, found a restroom and cried for like 5 minutes! Okay, tears are done, I feel
better, just had to get it out I guess. :)

;) Just walk

Oh, and how did you get P.S. for DD RFC? Maybe they've changed their policy but we tried and they said they never take P.S., that it's first come, first serve.

btw, here is our review of La Nouba

You will have a great time I am sure of it!!

Thanks for the tip! When I made my PS's with WDW Dine, I asked them for the # for RFK at DD. I just called there and made the PS. So, they must have changed their policy. (lucky for us, Im sure it will be crowded when Cirque lets out) I'm thinking we might go extra early, park down towards RFC, walk to the show, and then back for dinner, then the van will be right there and after a long day that will be nice. What is this about a boat? Where is it? How do you get about going on it? Does it cost anything? Thanks again,
Karen
BTW I your La Nouba report was great, and the pictures are nice to see before we go too. I think we are at the top of the first section, in the middle...my Mom bought the tickets, and I don't have them yet. So it looks like we'll be just in front of where you were. You have a nice website...its nice to put a face to a name. One of these days Ill have a site too! :):):)

I've made a PS for RFK at DD each trip the last 4 years...you just have to call the restaurant directly, (407) 827-6453, and they'll give you a PS number. One year we were running late & I called them about 2 hours before our PS & they gave us a later seating at a time of our choosing with no problem. They seem to be very flexible.
