One Mom and Three Kids Tackle the World in a Week - Dec '09 Trip Report - Complete :)

I can't believe that woman had the nerve to come up to you. Seriously I blame the adults in that situation. They should have been telling the kids to cut the stunts and move along. (And to watch the language).

I always find the last park day to be a bit sad, but at the same time I've usually had enough too. It's a mixed feeling. Sad to leaving the magic, but you've had enough of the crowds and craziness.

Well, I have to say that I agree with those that give poor Stitch his bad rap - I don't like that attraction at all! Thankfully, my boys didn't like it either, so I never have to get on it again

Isn't CoP great?! I hum that song all the time.

I'm not usually one for confrontation, but I don't know that I would have been able to hold my tongue when that 'chaperone' tried to reprimand me. If she had been doing her job and making sure those girls behaved, then you wouldn't have had to go around them in the first place! :headache:

Cute photo op in front of Pirates Lair, I didn't notice that when we were there!

After that, we were ready to bid our favorite park goodbye.
But it was time. The week had been long. The week had been fun. We had spent two lovely days plus one wonderful night inside Magic Kingdom. It was time to tell our old friend goodbye. It was sad but we know we will be back one day. It might take a little while but we will get there. I promise you that. Thank you for providing magic and pixie dust for us Mickey. :cloud9: We will see you soon!

I hate Disney goodbyes. :sad2:

It's always hard to say goodbye to that particular old friend!!

I would have not been so polite with that chaperone and would have had to explain that the real problem was those girls and their behavior!! Kudos to you for remaining calm.

Great update. It looks like you enjoyed every last minute of MK that you could!

Love the Dole Whip Float picture! :cloud9:

Too bad about the obnoxious lady. :sad2: There's always one on every trip. I probably wouldn't have been as nice and calm as you!!

Looking forward to the rest. :goodvibes

Sorry to see your trip winding down, but I guess it has to happen for all of us. :sad2:

Can't wait to laugh at your next update! popcorn::

What a cheek to come and tell you off, she should have been doing her job better and making sure all the girls were behaving and keeping up :sad2:

She was super mean. What a bad way to end the day in MK. That's why I went for the Dole Whip Float. I needed something to perk me back up! :thumbsup2

Aw, poor Stitch. No one likes him. CoP is just wonderful. We all fell in love! I agree about the chaperone. The language and behavior was obvious and soooo not Magic Kingdom behavior.

I hate Disney goodbyes. :sad2:

Me too. :sad2:

I'll take you with me next time then Sheree. I'm horrible with confrontation. I usually end up crying.

We did every last drop! LOL! It was a pretty nice day, minus the bad apples. :thumbsup2

I know, it's sad!! It feels worse because I don't have a trip to plan anytime this year. Big bummer. :sad1:

What a cheak to come and tell you off, she should have been doing her job better and making sure all the girls were behaving and keeping up :sad2:

Ditto Jo!!! Do your job lady! :rolleyes1

That lady would've walked away from me crying. I can be a witch with a b at times. LOL!
But I pronbably would've said somehting while in line to begin with to the girls. Like move it along, watch your mouth, the line isn't a place for this crap, etc. I guess I am old and tired of crap anymore. LOL

 I am just not a big person on confrontation. Also known as a wimp!

I read about Dimitri on Memom's report. I hope things are much better now. I'm so sorry he had to go through that. I'll continue to pray for a fast recovery for him.

Ooops, I fell behind and now it's almost over! I loved reading about your last day in MK. You really did a great job of soaking everything in and fully enjoying yourselves! :thumbsup2 I hope that you will be able to get back sooner rather than later.

Congratulations on the adoption! :cool1:

That would be me, as well. :flower3:

Let's hide in the corner together then. :flower3:

Thanks Rinky. It was a really scary time. Things are better now thankfully. Though he still acts a little confused now and then so that makes me a little worried. They say that when you have any sort of brain injury, the after effects can stick around for quite awhile.

Thank you!! I hope to maybe update tomorrow if I have time. There's just never enough time lately. :sad1:

Oh my goodness Kelli! What happened to Dimitri?

I just found your trip report and enjoyed reading each and every bit of it. You have a beautiful family and congrats on the adoption. We've found that some of the cheer groups can be fantastic at the parks, but some seem to just be shockingly out of control. We had an experience in an elevator with some of them at the hotel once with them doing handstands and almost knocking my five year old niece over and wow we were not impressed. I can't wait to hear how your trip finished!

Oh my goodness Kelli! What happened to Dimitri?

To give you the rundown, Dimitri came home from school on the 15th acting very tired and out of it. I thought he was probably coming down with something. He started running a temp and throwing up and telling me how much his head hurt. So I chalked it up to the flu. He woke up after napping through the afternoon and mentioned hitting his head hard at recess and being in the nurses' office with an icepack on his head. (I hadn't even received a note home about this, which is a whole different matter) I thought I better be safe and take him in to be seen by a doctor. Our small hospital is a bit of a joke and the doctor on call was just eh. He did all sorts of junk not needed such as a strep test, checked his ears, blood count, chest x-ray, whatever. Nothing showed up. I was insistent I was sure it was something to do with his head so they ran a CT scan. The results came back as "small white streak" but would need to be read by a radiologist from a bigger hospital. So, we went home for the night and had to wake him up every two hours. His symptoms persisted and we were sent to a bigger children's hospital out of our state. After reading the CT scan and checking him over, we were admitted. His headaches were horrible, the fever kept leaving and coming back, he was throwing up and he was still confused. For example, he asked me what day it was a few different times. We asked him some math questions that he already knew and he couldn't get them. It was just really scary and so out of character for Dimitri. They sent us home that Saturday night with a diagnosis of a fairly serious concussion and instructions for light activity for at least two weeks. He's very active so hitting his head again is pretty probable for him. Keeping him on the downlow has been HARD. Thankfully he's improving each day! He went back to school last Tuesday. This is the one kid that is going to age me the fastest for sure.

Really enjoyed reading this and the adoption was a great addition!

Thank you, I've enjoyed writing the TR!! The adoption was a long road so sometimes I have to pinch myself that it's all over now.

:welcome: Thank you for joining in! I agree about the groups. We encountered a lovely group at AK but the ones we ran into at MK were not well supervised or well behaved at all. It was really a put off. Please stick around for the little I do have left to write!

I also have to give a shoutout to MeMom for posting about Dimitri and asking for prayers. Thank you MeMom!! I really appreciate the prayers and thank you for thinking about him!! :goodvibes
