It is so stressful. I hate having "smart" friends, because there is so much competition between us. I try not to get sucked into it, but it is hard.

That's why I try not to compete with friends. My best friend and I decided not to tell each other our report card grades anymore.

I took my one semester class in summer school, because then it is only 3 weeks long.

It was keyboarding (required class grrrr), and I tested out within the first three days, so I got to surf the net the rest of the time, 4 hours a day. Had to show up but not do anything. Easy A lol.

we do it out of 6.0
so ppl in honors classes get 6 points for an A,5 points for a B etc.
and advanced classes get 5 points for an A,4 for a B etc.
and regular get 4 points for an A,3 for a B etc.

I love b/c i can a couple of B and still have a 5.4...Im doing better than a bunch of friends though! my best friend is a freshmen and she has all As...it makes me sick!

like I dunno but Im one of the only ones with an A in Bio and World History!

we have to take a computer class so Im taking AP ComputerScience...it is SOOOO easy! and I have an A!

i should have taken health and speech in summer school but I think it will be more of a hassle to get up early and go then to do it in school..also I can get an advanced credit for speech now(only academic in summer school)

Jules that sounds really confusing. I know that for class ranking, you get extra points for being in honors classes. That doesn't help me because I took college prep (except for ap math), even though my counselors wanted me to be honors. So that's why I'm not as high as I was hoping I could be.

It's just basically averaging your report card grades.

I just wish I hadn't taken AP Bio. I have like an A-, but it is causing me too much stress. I am starting to hate my teacher, who is a family friend and such a sweetie, which is bad.

We get number grades, not letter grades. So on your report card, you'll get 94 in this, 89 in this, 93 in this.

I think almost all schools in my area do it out of 100.

ok we college now classes....I dunno what the point value is though..so I might not take those

its really not confusing...and its really nice b/c it helps ppl that take harder classes...but then all sports are academic so there is no way a sport person can be valevictorian but band is an advanced class...thank goodness!

That sucks that someone in sports can't be valedictorian, although I guess the valedictorian is someone who took an AP in place of a sport or something. Here when they figure that out they use your academic weighted GPA, which doesn't include PE, band, or sports. Just pure academic classes.

Class rank is determind by your GPA, but they also take into account the classes you take (ap, honors, college prep, general), so I probably could have been higher if I had taken more honors classes, but I just didn't want to.
