Got up at 4:30am for our 6:30 flight out of Lincoln, Nebraska. I really can't see why we have to be at the airport 90 min early. Mac & J picked us up on the way we arived arount 5:10 checked in and tried to find some coffee, NONE to be found, now if the airport is open please brew us some coffee. All our bags cleared security. We did not, I got the full pat down, D who wore his National Guard hat never got a second look the whole trip. T had to go through the scanner 3 times, M got the pat down as did J
Mac brezed through. We started boarding at 6:10. J got pulled over to check her carry on. We took off on time, landed ontime in Minneapolis and had a 2.5 hr wait. We found coffee and breakfast. T bought a bunch of beanies at the airport store. We have found that hard to find ones alway show up in the airport.
We passed through security again and boarded the plane for Orlando. Got apple juice, pepsi, pretzles and cookies. Good thing we ate a good breakfast!
We are flying in the windy updrafts caused by TS Isadore so this was a very bumpy ride, talk about space mountian. Several people were ill during the flight and the seatbelt sign never shut of in the 3.5 hr flight. We had to go over to the east coast of Florida, saw lots of boats . Finially landed in Orlando about 20 min late.
We split up. Mac & I went to get the rental car at Dollar and the rest got the luggage. Got a great rate of 207 for 1 week rental on a Minivan using the Fish code. Agent commented on the rate, forgot to push the insurance
then told us that they had a run on minivans and they were out but would have more soon
I made this reservation some time ago and put pick up at 3pm, it is 3:10, so we go get the rest and come back in 15. still no van. At 4 we are getting cranky, we are supposed to stop at the pin event to pick up the event package and meet up with some others. Not going to happen. They offered us a SUV but would only hold 5 adults, won't work. Finially at 4:20 the van was ready we are really cranky now and the agent gave us a 20% discount so our van for the week is now 263 for the week including the taxes and a tank of gas. We are on our way.
Hit the greenway and got to the hotel Country Inn and Suites in about 20 min. Checked in with no problem. All King suites facing the pool area. Very nice. See offsite board for more on the hotel.
We decided to bag going to the park. We all have AP's , except J and Mac who got 5 day hoppers. So we unpacked and head to DD to eat at the Rainforest Cafe. Had a good meal with a free appitizer with the orlandomagic card. Went over to the new pin traders store and listened to the very upset peope who had been at the pin event that day. 5 hr waits to get pins, sounds like a big mess. Glad we missed it. Did a little shopping. Stopped at walgreens for pop, water and snacks and turned in. E-mail the kids and go to bed.
