This is going to make you so MAD! There are three words in the English language that end in "gry". ONE is angry and the other is hungry. EveryONE knows what the third ONE means and what it stands for. EveryONE uses them everyday, and if you listened very carefully, I've given you the third word. What is it? _______gry?

I just think like that sometimes. I love riddles and I always thought the answer was something like that, and I finally read it somewhere.

But the "correct" version still doesn't make sense....

Shouldn't the "correct" riddle read: "There are only three words in "The English Language", in quotation marks so that we know that's what's being referred to? Because otherwise it still doesn't make sense. Yes, I know then that way it wouldn't be a "riddle", but it still seems grammatically incorrect therefore an invalid riddle.

Well, I don't know. It's like that riddle when someone says 'you are driving a bus. At the first stop 10 people get on, three get off. At the next stop 3 people get on, 4 get off. At the last stop, 7 get on and 12 get off. What color is the bus driver's eyes?" It's supposed to trick you and make you think 'outside the box'. Here the "correct" version is grammatically correct. The trick is that there are three words in.. the English language. It's awkwardly worded, yes, but grammatically correct. I don't see why quotes are really needed. JMO, I didn't make the riddle up or even solve it on my own, just passing along what I found.
