One day, two parks, three FPs...

we are going to hit both AK and Epcot in one day. Not trying to see it all, as we've seen most of it many times before. At Epcot want to check out new Soarin and Test Tracks is my son's fav. Probably eat lunch there too. Heading to AK later in day so we can catch the Rivers of light show and new Avatar land and rides. We can fit in other rides as time allows. Would you use the three FPs in the morning at EPCOT or in the afternoons/evening at AK. I know if we use in the morning I can try to snag another in the afternoon, but in the past I've tried unsuccessfully at Kiosk to get anything. Can you use an app now? I could be trying to get one while in line for a ride as opposed to standing in line at kiosk.

1. Just being able to book via the app will not necessarily mean you'll be more successful than with a kiosk.
2. Yes, but...

If you don't get a FP for the most popular Avatar ride, (even Rivers of Light) you may be in for some trouble.

Possibly...
Rope drop (and FP) Avatar rides at DAK, then after noon, go to Epcot for lunch,
ride Soarin' (with the new third screen, its easier to ride) and TT (somewhat easier to ride in the afternoon,)
THEN head back to DAK for Rivers of Light.

With the current multi-hour waits for the Pandora rides (after waiting 2 hour shift to get into the Pandora land) I would probably get AK FP+ for a Pandora, ROL and and Safari or EE, if you can rope-drop TT then do Soarin standby right after TT.

The proposed plan I offered was to consider the current major difficulties at DAK...
by STARTING (and ending) the one single day at DAK... AND using FP there.

The reason for doing Epcot after noon (and lunching there) would be that the desired FW attractions would be easier to board without FP in the mid-afternoon.
That would leave all FP (-and- Rope Drop advantages) for the far more pressing DAK.

I'm trying to figure how Rope Dropping at Epcot (just to ride TT... Soarin' won't be an issue) would solve the immense
problems at DAK's pandora.

Maybe I'm missing something.

i didn't think of an AK am plan, but that is probably the best way to get into Pandora.

I would rope drop Epcot, then do AK in the afternoon, if you were okay with only being able to do one of the two rides in Pandora.

You would be able to do whatever you like at Epcot with a rope drop strategy, and (correct me if I'm wrong) reports are that Pandora is a bit less crazy in the afternoons. So FP FoP, Everest and maybe safari or RoL. The afternoon at AK strategy keeps you away from the insane morning mad dash.

Now re-reading op's original post, I see they are traveling in one day. I'm not sure what FP you might be able to secure if you haven't arranged it already. Pretty likely Avatar is all gone. If so, I'd do AK rope drop, arriving very early. And get whatever FP you can for Epcot. Remember, Test Track has single rider line, so you may not need FP for that.
