One Day to Visit: What Would you Do?

So DW and I are visiting WDW on June 27th. Unfortunately it's just a 1 day trip during a bigger family vacation. This is our 4th time going together, last was in March of 2012. Will probably be 2-3 years before we get to return. So how would you spend 1 day? Here's what I'm thinking.

I want to experience the things that are new since we were last there. The plan is to do MK from rope drop into early afternoon, and then hop over to Epcot for the rest of the day and night. I'm assuming I'll only be able to book FP+ ahead of time in the MK and will have to hope to get a 4th one for Epcot once we enter Epcot later in the day. If so, I hope to use fastpasses in MK for Seven Dwarves... or maybe Splash. Not sure how to best use FP+ with tiering but there aren't that many attractions we want to make sure to hit in MK: Space, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, Buzz Lightyear, Seven Dwarves, Splash, Thunder, Pirates, Haunted Mansion... that should about cover it.

Then over to Epcot. Hoping that when we arrive we'll still be able to get a Test Track fastpass for later in the day. Test Track and Spaceship Earth are the only Future World attractions we feel the need to visit. The rest of the day and night are for eating and drinking around World Showcase. Maybe get to try Tutto Gusto, which opened shortly after we were last there. Cap the night with Illuminations.

So that's how we plan to do one day. Some Magic Kingdom favorites, followed by leisurely time in World Showcase. No time for HS or AK. What would you do?

Sounds like a workable plan. If you can truly hit MK at rope-drop, you should easily be able to knock out several of the rides you mentioned with virtually no (or very little) standby waits, saving the FP options for the ones with usually long lines later in the day (7DMT, Space and Buzz....we have had pretty good luck at rope drop with starting at Adventureland and working our way around, such that you've got the FPs ready to go by the time you make it around to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland at mid-morning.

I would hate to be in Epcot and not do Soarin! Everything else looks good.

To be real honest, as long as "Illuminations" is on tap for the finale, you will walk away happy no matter what else you do. :thumbsup2

I like your plan and would probably do something similar if it was just DH and I. Epcot is our favorite park as adults, so we'd probably spend most of our time there. We took the kids to WDW 2 weeks ago--on our Epcot day, we tried to get test track fp+ at 2pm, but they were gone for the day already (we had chosen soarin as our tier 1), so thats the only thing I'd be concerned about. Have fun!
