One day to Decide

We have an 11 day DVC stay planned beginning 11/5. I had purchased 6 day single park tickets to bridge into Gold AP. I was really, really hoping that 10/1 would show resumption of AP sales. That hasn't happened. We won't qualify as "recovery" because our previous tickets expired 1/21/20. My partner was able to renew as her tickets were out of sync with the rest of us. I am just stumped about what to do. I have talked to Member Services a few times asking about sales of AP and they all have said they don't know when AP sales will resume but likely 2021. What would you do? Go and hope that some magic might happen? Cancel and pout? Something I haven't thought of?

Thanks for your thoughts,
SotS

I would go and hope for a kick-a$$ new AP offer once they do finally go on sale. That way, you could get the vouchers but not activate until your next trip and possibly end up with an expiration date that’ll work better than Nov 2021...

I assume you mean 1 day to decide because of points going into holding if you cancel any later? They still are not doing that so if you're otherwise able to take more time to wait and see about the AP's you can. Of course DVC could change that but IMO I don't think they'd change that before the end of the year at the earliest.

I will add that a few have mentioned they went to GS to ask that a note be put on the account that the intention was to upgrade they tickets.

I have read about someone told they may be allowed to still use the value of that ticket toward the AP when sales resume

I’d go and have a great time. In 2020 it’s what you need!!!!

Thanks y'all. I didn't cancel today although the multiple airline time/date changes has me a little seasick. Hoping that guest services will have mercy on me or some other mouse magic like anyone who wants one is able to purchase an AP. Worst case scenario we will have pool days at the end of our trip at Beach Club. It'll just be *terrible* to be basking in the sun and sand while the people back home freeze, I'm sure. ;)

Home! Update: I was able to purchase 3 gold annual passes at Magic Kingdom. When an additional family member came later in the week and I tried to buy 1 more AP at Epcot I was told that wasn't an option. Begrudgingly, the CM at Epcot said they'd put a note on the file so that "if" AP begin being sold again the value from this trip's ticket could be applied to the next trip. I was cautioned that AP might not be returning (I'm not even sure what to think about that since 2 days before I was able to buy them!). So lots of pixie dust and we had a great time!
