one day ticket vs parkhopper

Is it possible to buy a 10 day ticket (no hopping) but use it to get into more than one park a day, by using another day? Disney's new pricing makes it cheaper to buy a 10 day than a 5 day park hopper.

No. Specifically not.

Disney gives you more days for less per day, as little as three dollars for the sixth, seventh, etc. day. This is because they would like you to be here for more days. They still expect you to buy the hopping option if you want to visit more than one park in the same day.

Ask yourself, do you really need to park hop? Remember that travel between parks does consume time.

I would buy the hopper add on. We always enjoyed hopping to a different park during the day when we went.
