Hello!

I will be going to Orlando to stay Offsite at my timeshare between August 11th - August 23rd at Sheraton Vistana resort. The 11th and the 12th (Friday and Saturday) we have no plans to visit a park. I was thinking of possibly changing my reservation and booking a Disney resort for one night for the 11th to the 12th. I thought it would be fun to actually explore a beautiful themed resort and get in the Disney spirit! Now comes the hard part, CHOOSING ONE.

What I'm looking for is a beautiful themed resort, with lots of dining/lounge options, pools and fun activities to explore. I'm looking for a Moderate resort with the hopes of getting a deal with a discount for under 200 bucks a night or around that price if it is a deluxe resort.

The choices I'm bouncing between:

Coronado Springs
Port Orleans: Riverside OR French Quarter
Animal Kingdom Lodge

I've been to Coronado Springs and Loved it but regret not spending more time exploring the resort.. (We didnt even get to see the big pool!)

Port Orleans is not my favorite theme out of the three, but some of the rooms look fantastic.

Animal Kingdom lodge is my dream resort. It would cost much more and for 1 night I dont know if its worth it. Also I may be devastated to leave such a beautiful resort.

If you guys can help me decide I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

For one night my choose would be CSR to explore the peaceful resort. That pool wow's me every time my family has stayed there. I would love to one day do AKL but for one night that price is a no no....

AKL hands down if you can swing it! Maybe a summer room discount will come out to help. We have only been able to do a few nights with a friend's DVC pts. - you will be in danger of not wanting to stay anywhere else! It is absolutely gorgeous and of course animals right outside - amazing! Plenty of great restaurants between AKL and Kidani - Boma, Saana, Jiko, and Mara for QS, as well as lounges. 2 pools you can check out between the two - large beautiful pool at AKL with flamingos right behind, and Kidani is smaller but with better slide, and splash area if you have kids.

Also, if you have kids there are lots of fun activities scheduled throughout the day. There is also a free culinary tour through Boma and Jiko each day with some free samples. There is plenty to do to enjoy the resort for a day.

That being said, we love CSR and it has a great pool with a really fast slide, and hammocks by the beach. It is our fave, and only caveat right now is construction, and not sure for relaxing at resort with that depending on what is happening by August.

CSR has the construction right now, and while the pool shouldn't be impacted, I don't like to use the word "relaxing" in conjunction with construction.

Animal Kingdom Lodge is my dream resort too!

We went to Boma for breakfast on our last trip and it made me want to stay there even more.

If you don't mind booking through a third part website like cheaptickets.com they have a 20% off code MARCH20 that just came out today. The AKL for a standard at one night would be $327 after applying the coupon code.

I've used them before when staying at Universal's Royal Pacific Resort.
I've also booked Disney resorts on priceline and hotels.com with no issues.

The summer discounts should be coming out soon. A standard room for that night at AKL is $354. With the 30% discount the room would be $248 before taxes. We stayed there for just one night last summer and loved our resort day. All of the resorts you chose are great though. You should be happy with any of them.

CSR - construction rules this one out for me

POFQ - no amenities except a food court and a very 'kiddie' themed pool, so no for me

POR - great amenities, lots of room to walk around, carriage rides, boat to DS, themed pool, multiple quiet pools, Royal Rooms, walk to POFQ for beignets, Yee Haa Bob (maybe), surrey bike rentals, good choice!

AKL - beautiful themed resort, amazing lobby, walk to Kidani and enjoy amenities there as well, animal viewing, nice pools, activities, multiple delicious dining options, nice unique gift shop, balcony on the room, just a gorgeous option to enjoy for a day!

I voted AKl, but POR is also a really good choice, IMO.

Good luck!

If the cost works out I can't think of a better resort to spend a day at than AKL. My kids are not big fans of taking breaks from the parks, but AKL is the one place they actually want scheduled time set aside to spend at the resort.

ok. AKL. So much to do. if not POFQ boat to Disney Springs

I would do AKL! We stayed for one night there for our first visit to that resort...and seeing the animals right outside our room, swimming in the pool, the campfire with rocking chairs, and dinner at Boma made it seem like 3 days! It's now our "go to" resort!

That is what I am Scared of! The resort I own is a beautiful villa resort so I love it everytime I go but I am worried I'll be super sad leaving AKL!

Honestly I wanted to checkout Caribbean beach resort but the construction just ruled that out for my too. I loved Coronado springs, however I don't want our only day there to be impacted by noise....

I'm keeping an eye on prices and discounts. if I can get AKL for around 240 I might splurge and do it. The cost is split between me and my sister so 120 wouldn't be bad at all. However the base rate is a no go for me.

Thank you so much for this list! To be honest I'm very bias and leaning towards AKL. If I can swing the price I think I will go with that one!

YES Thats exactly me as well. I never take breaks from the parks because I am offsite most often but know that there is so much for us to do makes me even more excited to try and go!

That is also what I am looking forward to. I would love to try Boma or Saana!

Thanks everyone for the help and responses! I think I will go with AKL if the price is right and Riverside if thats a cheaper option. Thank you all so much for the feedback!
