One day plan for WDW and DL vet?

My 17 year old daughter are planning a day in the park on Monday, July 7. Can you help me create-or point me at-a touring plan that would maximize that day? We want to focus on things that are different than the American parks, and definitely want to take time to wander and enjoy the details. Two park passes are cheap, though I'm not sure if we want to bother much with Studios (though maybe ratatouille soft opening!). Not planning to take time out for a sit down meal-very expensive and we will have spent the past week in Paris .

Are you staying onsite? Will you have access to EMH as that will make a difference.

There aren't any formal touring plans but the ride that often has the longest queue is Crush (in the studios). Its a spinning coaster

Rides which are different to WDW/DL

Thunder mountain - on an island - gets longish lines but can FP this
Space Mountain - goes upside down - can FP it and is open during EMH
Indiana Jones - coaster that goes upside down. Has FP but never gets as long a line as the other coasters
POC is better in my opinion than WDW or DL. The queuing area is much better as well.
Phantom Manor is different- its worth reading up on the story line first as its different to WDW/DL. The whole of Frontierland is linked by the story
Worth exploring Adventure Isle with all the caves/bridges etc
Also Alice's Labyrinth is unique to DLP -
Don't forget to look in the castle- go into the dungeon to visit the dragon and upstairs onto the balcony

If you have access to EMH do the Fantasyland rides - Peter pan, dumbo, carrousel, teacups, and usually one other then head to discovery land to do Orbitron, space and Buzz.
Then line up to either head for Thunder Mountain or grab a FP for this and then do Phantom Manor while waiting for your time. Then work your way to Indiana Jones, POC and back into Fantasyland.

If you do want to ride Crush its worth heading there first thing. It often opens slightly earlier than the rest of the park and you can get into the studios about half an hour before opening time so can line up.
Again of you have access to EMH you can do that for an hour at Disney park and then head across to studios about 9.20 to get in line

There are many things in the Studios that are unique to DLP. If you enjoy rollercoasters then Crush is excellent. The whole of Toy Story Playland, including the new Raratouille mini land would be worth a look too. The shows Animagique and Cinemagique are also unique to DLP.

Make sure you stay for Dreams too, it is an excellent show.

Hi Sara, my 17 yo daughter and I are going to Paris from 06/21-07/5 with my brother and just found out we are going to be able to spend 1 day at DLP too. We've never been and have had no time to plan so I'm kind of in panic mode. Glad you asked this question! We need advice too!

I would definitely want to bother with the studios - Animagique and Cinemagique are wonderful and unique to DLRP.

I'd say go to the Studios too - Cinemagique is worth the entrance alone IMO but just to wander through Toy Story Play Land and the new Ratatouille area.

DLP is beautifully designed and definitely don't forget to visit our resident dragon.

Hello,

I would agree with everything that the others have said - if you are looking to see the things on offer in Paris that aren't in the States I would cover everything that has been mentioned.

Personally I would start at the studios - getting there before opening and heading straight to Crush. After that take in Cinemagique, Toy Story land and the new Ratatoullie area - even if you just go to see something so new and fresh I think it would be worth it.

Aim to head over to the main park for Lunch - even if you are just looking for a counter service meal they are still better in the main park that the Studios in my opinion. Even though you want a quick lunch don't rule out the express menu at Walts. They aim to have you in and out in 40 mins, it isn't too expensive and Walts is a unique feature of DLP that is so worth visiting.

Use the board at the central hub to view wait times - especially BTM and Peter Pan (if that's one you are aiming for) - aim for whichever has the longest wait time and go there first for a fastpass - then visit the other while you wait - they aren't very far apart so make sure you have studied a park map over lunch Otherwise if you don't want to do Peter Pan maybe go to BTM for the fast pass and then queue to ride POC (which is not a fastpass attraction)

Don't forget to visit the Dragon and the arcades which are unique to DLP Hope you have a lovely day.

We did one day at DLP on Halloween last year. We weren't too interested in the studios either but got parkhoppers in case we had time before the Halloween party started at DL. We ended up only doing Cinemagique and it was cute but I also sort of fell asleep partway through. Oops. If Ratatouille had been open at the time I'm sure we would've made an effort to cover that, though.

My favorite things that are different than WDW/DL were definitely Space Mountain and Alice's Labyrinth. PoC was closed because a kid had fallen out of a boat the day before, so that was a bummer. Phantom Manor was neat, too, even though there was no VO so we had no idea what the story was supposed to be. (Though I wouldn't have understood it in French anyway so I guess it doesn't matter.) We did Big Thunder and night and it really cool going through the tunnel to get to the island.

But like you said, just soak it in! Wander around and do whatever attractions you feel like. We found it to be a very, very different park experience than at home. And if you're not doing any TS meals, just prepare for the quick service food to be...not good. And for the love of God do not go to the "Mexican" restaurant.

I too am a Disney regular and planning our trip for Summer 2015 to London and Paris. We must visit Disneyland and are trying to figure how much time we need. Since the parks do not open until 10am- we could take the train from London right to Disneyland and get a two day hopper. This would allow us to see the best of both. Spend one night at Disneyland Hotel and spend most of Day 2 in the parks and then head to Paris in the evening.
Do you think this would work?

Had our day at the park yesterday-thank you all for your advice. We were tired after a full day at Versailles the day before and couldn't make it until 11 for Dreams . Other than that, fabulous day and I feel like we got to experience almost everything we wanted to so in both parks-except Space Mountain, which was down.

We did both parks, hopping back and forth a bit. We stayed in Paris, took the RER both ways. Worked very smoothly. I am disappointed that we missed Dreams but staying til 11 and then having to get back to paris was just too late for us-long days on this vacation (had a full day at Versailles the day before which probably wasn't the best planning).

Crowds were surprisingly low-though we had a very long and crowded wait for Big Thunder.

We will be arriving in Disneyland the night before and staying the night of. However, the day before we will be driving from all day touring Mont Saint Michel so I am sure there will be a high exhaustion level. But, then again, you want to see and do as much as you possibly can while in France so exhaustion is inevitable!

My girls and I are going to Paris in October. We only have 1 day to spend at DLP so I bought park hoppers. We're trying to figure out must MUST do rides etc. since our time is so short but I'm scared, the parks close SO early and there is so much to do! It would help if we had EMH but we don't, we're staying in an apartment in the city for the week.
Any suggestions would be great.
