One Day Pass and delay at gate?

I've always bought PH's in advance but will be at WDW for a very short trip (will only visit Epcot for one day), so it makes sense to buy the One Day pass. However, I'm concerned about crowds and delays getting into the park if I have to purchase the pass at the gate. If anyone has bought One Day passes recently, I'd love to know:

Will the ticket booth open before the park itself opens? If so, how much earlier?

Whether the booth opens early or not, will this cause a significant delay in getting into the park?

Thanks for any feedback!

I am using one day passes too as we only have two days there and it is a last minute trip.

The ticket booths seem to open around 8am from what i remember so there should not be any real delays for you.

Have a great day at Epcot!!!

Ticket booths open an hour before park opening, so you'll have plenty of time. You won't experience any longer of a wait at the gate with a one-day pass than you would with a park-hopper. And it'll take you all of 15 minutes to buy your ticket.

I have had to buy one day passes before and what I try to do is go and have dinner the night before at the poly or the contemporary then before I go back to my hotel i buy my one day passes at guest services. I told the cm at the poly that i was not a guest there and he said once you walk in the door at the poly you are a guest here. Of course this would not work if you won't be in orlando the night before.

And people wonder why we want to go back to DW again and again!!! Where else are you going to find service like that?? That makes me feel good and I wasn't even there!

That works out well for you MickeyMonstersMom! Have fun, I love 'Ohana for dinner!!!

A few years ago we were getting Florida resident passes (b/c we own a timeshare-can't do that any more :( ) and we did it at MGM at the gate and it didn't take long at all.
