One Day Park Hopper Tour Plan... Too Ambitious?

The last two times we went as a family, we stayed on-site for a week.

This year, we will be in Florida visiting friends and I managed to get my hands on one day park hopper tickets for the family. I would like to hit DHS before lunch and then MK after lunch. It's a PEAK week with MK open until midnight.

In the morning, I would like to get to DHS at rope drop. Ride: Toy Story, Rockin' Coaster, Tower of Terror, Star Tours and catch a show if possible.

Arrive by 2pm to MK and get in as many headliners as possible. Will there be fast pass+ at MK once we are eligible again after DHS FPs?

Any strategies/advice are greatly appreciated.

You will be fine. Due to the number of rides, and the longer hours, MK generally has more late day FP available than any other park.

Just curious, when is this exactly? Are any EMHs in play at either park? And how many people in your party?

Headliner FP availability at MK can be a little though later in the day, especially if it’s really busy. The late hours help, but just be prepared you may have to keep working at it for headliner FPs.

Riding some key rides around HEA can be helpful as well.

If you're prepared to stay late at MK I think you'll be fine, we did a late evening there on President's Day weekend, the last hour quietened down significantly (midnight closing), and during the afternoon before going in I could have had any of the headliners for that evening. As soon as you've tapped in for your last FP that HS, start having a look and grab what you can then try to modify it earlier.

It would help to know when you're going. But I would do everything I can at DHS in the morning, and have fast passes waiting for me at MK. You'll need the MK fast passes much more, since you'll be getting there in the aft. 7DMT and Peter Pan would be the top priorities, of course.

As soon as you tap at the fast pass you can book the next one.

Hmmm.... so 3/28 has PM MK EMHs from 12AM-2AM. 3/29 doesn’t have EMHs at either park.

I am generally not a fan of going to a park on a EMH day, especially one with no benefit to you as is the case in your circumstance.

If I were you, I might try to circle 3/29 if at all possible.

I also tend to agree with the PP who said to save your FPs for MK and rope drop HS like crazy instead. 8AM-12AM MK hours mean it’s going to be crowded - having three FPs there will be extremely helpful.

Just my opinion, but hope that helps.

Yeah, I would book your fast passes in advance for MK. If you try to get same day FPs for MK on a peak crowd day, you are not likely to get headliners.

So FP+ opens up today. It looks like 7 Dwarves gone already and Peter Pan earliest is 4:00. Earliest Toy Story is also around 4:00. You guys have suggested two great strategies:

(1) Use all three FPs at DHS then try to get MK FPs when available (risk: nothing avail around 11:30am when I can reserve again) (reward: still have ability to make FPs)
(2) Make FPs for MK and try to do what we can at Rope drop. (risk: long morning, may not get to all 4 -TS, ToT, RRC, ST) (reward: have FP between 2 and 5 for SM, BTM, PP).
