So I'll be traveling to Los Angeles this month and have only one free day to do whatever I want. It's occurred to me that I want to go to Disneyland! I've never been, so I desperately need some advice. For any experienced Disneyland natives out there, how would you suggest I tackle a one day extravaganza? Do one park only to the fullest or park hop? What are the "must-sees"? Please share! And thanks!

With only one day I would do only DL. We are AP holders and can easily do DL all day. For us DCA is only a half day park. Also DL has the new parade and fireworks which are absolutely awesome!! It will be crowded since it's summer, so just make sure you get there before opening to get into the park right away. Make sure you take advantage of fastpasses and single rider lines to maximize your time there! If you are there solo, it probably won't be hard to find a little space at the last minute to see the parade and fireworks so you can maximize time on the rides. Have Fun!!

thank you so much....i really appreciate your wise advice. i will go to disneyland only and do just as you say. i have also thought of getting a hotel room to just do the afternoon hours in (sleep, rest, take a break...). hopefully, with your advice and the hotel room, it will be a pleasant experience!

Almost exactly what I was going to say.
