One day - One park ticket

Has anyone ever bought a one day-one park ticket ahead of time? Are you even able to do this? Or should I just buy a Disney gift card??? And if I buy a gift card are we able to redeem it for a park ticket??? Sorry I'm so full of questions but we're making a pit-stop in Anaheim on our trip to CA and we were only planning on going to DL for one day. The entire trip is a Christmas present for my girls so I wanted to give them their tickets as part of their gifts.

I thought that the ticket wasn't activated until you used it? I may be wrong though,(wouldn't be the first time)

Hmmm, someone asked this question a month ago and there WAS a way to secretly order them online, but I just tried to do it now to post the directions, and it seems like it's not available any more, as they've changed the site.

You can call (714) 781-4400 and order one-day, one-park tickets in advance, but you'll have to pay for shipping.

I have not personally bought the one-day/one-park tickets. However, one of my clients buys them all the time and has given me many of them as gifts in the past. What she does is call the phone number that, I believe, is listed on the DLR website. You click the 'Buy' tab, then 'Tickets,' then scroll all the way down the page to where you see the one-day/one-park tickets and there should be a phone number listed there. You call the # and give your credit or debit card info and place your order and the tickets arrive fairly quickly. I do not know if there is a minimum number of tickets you have to order, or if you can just order a few. I know my client gets these tickets in quantities of at least 6 at a time because she gives them to sick kids/charities as well as to friends, but I don't know if Disney requires her to order that many or if she just does it on her own.

I am sure you know you can take the one-day/one-park tickets and upgrade them to 1-day Hoppers, or you can order 1-day Hoppers online in advance, in case your girls have a hankering to get over to DCA to ride Toy Story Midway Mania and Monsters, Inc.

Now, as for the issue of the gift card and whether or not it can be applied to tickets - as far as I know, unless I am horribly misinformed, YES it can. So you could get a gift card for a certain denomination and then apply it to tickets, to an Annual Pass, to a DLR hotel room, to any DLR food or merchandise, and to merchandise at the Disney Store (in-store or online, as far as I know) - pretty much anything except other gift cards! You cannot use the gift cards for PhotoPass online orders, either. A lot of DIS-ers choose to load their Disney gift cards a little here and a little there before their trips and then use that as their sole Disney money once at DLR.

I bought the one day one park ticket about 6 weeks ago for a one day trip in december. you go to the disney site and go to tickets and call the number next to the one day one park ticket. You must call, can not order on line. there is a nice add on to mail them to you, but it beats standing in line the one day you are going. I looked at this issue before ordering mine to see how to do it and this seams to be the only way.

Thank you to all for your help! I'll call the number and order tickets to be shipped to our house for the girls' gifts! I can't wait to see their faces when they open them up!!
