My son and I have 1 day to spend at Disney and of course he wants to go to Hollywood studios for the star wars attractions, he will not ride thrill rides, so would it be worth a one day memory maker?

Not in my opinion. Just bring a camera and get the photopass photographers to use your own camera to take the pictures. They will do that for you without question 100% of the time

The one day price is about the same as 4-5 prints/downloads. If you think you will end up with that many must have pictures, then yes. Otherwise, as the PP said, just hand your camera/phone to the photographer and ask them to take one with your camera as well.

I bought the memory maker for one day at magic kingdom. There will be a lot of opportunities to use it there.

IMO, HS won't have enough opps to make it worthwhile. Last year when we went, there were very few.
