So I'm planning a surprise for my best friend. We're telling her we're going to the rapids [A water park 2 hours away from Disney] but we're actually gonna take her to WDW for her birthday. We're going to MK. Now, there's no way we can ride every ride in MK in one day,(we're not staying at a resort, it's a one day thing), so what rides in MK are on your mustdo list?

**Space Mountain and TTA are closed, so they can't be on the list.**

Pirates! Anyone who has seen the film but not the ride HAS to go on the ride!! It's so awesome! Haunted Mansion is really cool as well!

oh! I forgot to add, that aside from it being her birthday, it is also her first time going.

splash mountain
bigh thunder
pirates
jungle cruise
buzz lightyear space ranger spin
dumbo
peter pan
it's a small world
the teacups
haunted mansion

Splash Mountain
Big Thunder
Buzz
POTC
Haunted Mansion
Mickey's Philharmagic

:)

It's a Small World
Carousel of Progress
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain Rail Road

Make sure you get the big rides in like splash pirates thunder ect.

Make sure you ask her what he wants to do as well

My choice of rides is really centered around the classics, thankfully there aren't too many rides in the MK, so you guys should be able to hit a lot! Here are my picks:

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
Peter Pan's Flight
Mad Tea Party (aww c'mon.. its the TEA CUPS, classic to me XD)
it's a small world
The Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder Mtn Railroad
Splash Mountain (not my fave, but it is awesome)
Jungle Cruise
Pirates of the Caribbean

Carousel of Progress
Buzz Lightyear
Haunted Mansion
Peter Pan
It's a Small World
Mickey's Philharmagic
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
Monsters Inc Laugh Floor
Pirates of the Caribbean
Jungle Cruise
Splash Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain

Oh, I probably forgot somethings. You should get there at rope drop and not leave til they close down the place. :)

You should have NO problem doing most of the "big hit" rides. I've taken several Day Trips to WDW from Daytona Beach and have done all of the big rides at three parks in one day. You just def have to make use of fastpasses. I'd say first get a FP for Splash Mountian, and then if you have time to kill, go back and ride Pirates and Jungle Cruise until it is time. After than, get a FP for BTMRR and while waiting for that, head to Liberty Square and Ride Haunted Mansion, and then to Fantasy Land to ride the rides with typically no wait, Small World and Cinderella's Carousel. Then head back to BTMRR. After that go get a fastpass for PeterPan, and ride Pooh and snow white. After riding PeterPan, head to Buzz and either get a fastpass or wait in line (sometimes fastpasses will be gone, but the wait will only be 40 minutes). After buzz, ride the carousel of progress. Since you are only there one day, I would skip the parades, but make sure to watch the fireworks over the castle. Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Lol, woah. MK has a ton of rides. It's probably the park with the most rides!

I'd say do the big rides, but really just do whatever you have time for and try to get as much as you possibly can in! Have a great trip!

Yep, it's got a decent amount, for sure, and the most and most variety of the WDW parks, but it's not that tough to do all you want in a day. :goodvibes (I've had to do it twice)

I'd put the Hall of Presidents on the list too, because its unique to the MK and I love how educational and well done it is (even if it clashes just a teeny tiny bit with Liberty Square).

You just gave me a rough draft of what to do. haha. Thanks. :D

Well, I'm not so sure about skipping the parades since it is her first time there. I'm probably gonna hit TL first and work my way counter clockwise since everyone usually goes clockwise.

We're gonna be there from the minute the park opens to see the 5 minute show in the morning until they kick us out. hahaha

I'm thinking about including Astro Orbiter since I just rode it for the first time on Sunday and it was amazing. And throwing in the speedway.

BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN. MUST DO - ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT.
Splash Mountain.
Carousel of Progress.
Its a Small World.
Mickey's Philharmagic.
Pirates.
Indy Speedway.

Thats what I was going for, a rough draft. Sorry if I came off as a drill sargent :confused3 I re-read it and was like wow I sound crazed. My whole point was that you can do it haha. Just make use of fastpasses. I'm sure you will have a wonderful day. Just make sure you spend time enjoying the day :)

it is completely possible to do all the rides in magic kingdom in one day. if you get there when it opens, and stay till they kick you out! lol

i suggest when the ropes drop, going toward tomorrow land and working your way around in the counter clockwise circle. i'd save spash towards the last, so you don't have to walk around in wet clothes all day.

if you can, grab some breakfast at the mainstreet bakery, and lunch at casey's are also really really disney esque. do you think you could make reservations at crystal palace for dinner, so she could have her very first character meal?

Well, we're going with the intention of having her go and fall madly inlove that when she comes back, she demands that her mom buys her an annual pass so she can go with us. hahaha.

Since it's a spur of moment thing, I don't think we can do the character dinner. It'd surprisingly be my first time too.

&& No! You didn't come off as a drill sergeant haha. I understand, you get excited planning things. haha.

I have to have the list finalized by this time tomorrow. If not earlier.

For her card, we got an actual map from MK, and on the cover of it is a log from Splash Mt. So I re sized our faces and pasted them on the cover of it. It looks HILARIOUS.

Thanks so much guys for your help. I'm currently getting ready and we're gonna pick her up at 4am, and she'll find out around 6am-ish.

I'm gonna be taking LOADS of photos including her reaction. I'm gonna make an album on facebook, so if you want to add me, here's my link:
