Hi, all! My 15 year old is going to Japan on a school trip next month (April) and they will be doing one day at Tokyo DisneySea. We’ve already downloaded the app and purchased her pass but I’m so out of my element on this! What are the most important things she needs to know? I don’t think they can do any of the “fast passes” or things like that because they’re a big group and can’t coordinate things. I’m also not sure if she’ll be able to use mobile ordering because that would require my credit card and I had to verify the online purchase when I bought her ticket for security and I assume it would do the same thing for any purchase through the app, which would be problematic since I won’t be there. I know everyone says arrive early but she has not control over when they’ll get there (hoping the coordinators know to get there early) so I guess I’m just looking for any tips on how to maximize her time/get as much done as she can.

Thank you so much from this freaking out mom!

I'm not sure there is much she can do if her arrival time is out of her control and she won't be able to purchase any paid Premier Access tickets through the app. You can buy paid Premier Access tickets at guest services, although they do go pretty quickly.

The biggest thing would probably just be to manage / lower her expectations about what she'll be able to achieve. I would view it as more of a sightseeing day as opposed to a riding attractions day.

Otherwise, it would be the standard advice, like eating outside of popular hours. Although, with mobile ordering being the new "standard", that could also be a challenge.

If there's one or two rides she really wants to experience, then she could aim for those if she's willing to wait. She might be lucky and a single rider line is available and open (for Raging Spirits, Frozen, Tangled or Peter Pan and Indiana Jones, although I'm not sure it will be open then).

If it's anything like my kids' theme park field trips, they split off into smaller groups. If that's the case, then they can try for the free Priority Pass once they get into the park. Hopefully they can get return times that overlap. Simiarly for the paid Premier Pass if everyone can get their foreign credit cards to work.

The card that I used to buy the park ticket was saved in my account and I was able to use that for Premier Pass and mobile ordering. I don't recall any verification other than maybe reentering cvv. But that depends on the cc security measures. Text verification is an issue if you're not using your regular cell service.

You might want to add your DD as an authorized user on your credit card that has no foreign transaction fee. Then she would have her own cc to use and not be dependent on having enough cash.
