Hi everyone! So I am (hopefully) planning a trip to Disneyland Paris this coming December but for just one day! I am a former WDW CM, so pretty much an expert on the parks there. That being said, I know some of you on this board are DLP experts, so in your opinion, what MUST I do while I'm there? I'll only be there for one day as it's part of a larger Europe trip.

I'm mostly interested in things that are either vastly different from WDW, or you can't do while at WDW! I know I could just google it, but am interested in all of your opinions. Thanks guys :)

I'll be there in a few weeks and a big WDW fan, I can let you know about my experience when I return!!

Differences to American Parks

Entrance- The entrance turn-styles are located UNDER the Disneyland hotel
All rides have French audio
The Castle is higher and narrower than California
The Castle has a dragon underneath (entrance is at the Disney stage side of the Castle)
The Castle has a walk through upstairs section
Star Tours is the original 2D version
Pirates is the original none Jack Sparrow / Pirates films version
Haunted Mansion is Phantom Manor(slightly different version) and has a graveyard outdoor walk through section called Boot Hill
Indiana Jones is a traditional roller-coaster
Big Thunder Mountain is located on its own island in Rivers of America, the start / end is a tunnel under the water
The shops on Main Street are arcades and have an indoor corridor behind them
One of the arcades is the start of a covered in walkway which leads from the arcade on Main Street, through Frontierland and Adventureland down to the back of the park to Pirates / Peter Pan
Tomorrowland is called Discoveryland
The submarine attraction is just a walk through attraction
There is an Aladdin walk through attraction
There are far less shows / street entertainment
CM and guest behaviour is different - I call it Frenchified Disney, an American style park with French / European social and cultural feel and behaviours

The second park is Disney Studios
A scaled down version of a mix between California Adventures and Hollywood Studios
Unique ride is Ratatouille and accompanying restaurant Chez Remy

In addition to the good pointers given by PP

Alice Maze is unique to DLP
Storybook rides are slightly different to in DL and not in WDW at all - there is no guide on the boats
Phantom Manor is situated in Frontierland. All rides in that land are based around a backstory of the old town Thunder Mesa including Phantom Manor which belonged to the owner of the mine where Thunder Mountain is based

Cinemagique and Animagique are unique shows in Disney Studios
Crush Coaster is unique in Studios
Toystory play land is unique land in Studios

This website is very good for info on the rides

We just got back a week ago, and I strongly recommend BTMR, SM2, and Disney Dreams. Also loved Ratatouille! Don't expect much when it comes to food. Ratatouille was okay, but for the price, it was definitely not up to par with local French cuisine.
