One day car rental

We usually exclusively use ME and Disney transportation and have no problems with it, so we've never rented a car. This time, however, we're thinking of doing a one day rental to drive over to the beach. The little guy really wants to see the ocean. He has....he just doesn't remember it. So, can anyone tell me what is the easiest, most convenient way to do one day rental? I hate the idea of spending hours picking up and dropping off the car. Any suggestions on the best thing to do? Thanks!

It depends on where you're staying. If your at an Epcot resort, the eaisest is the national or alamo at the dolphin hotel. It's super easy there...when you drop off you simply leave the car with the valet.

If you're staying near downtown disney, I think the avis in the DTD Hilton or the Dollar in the regal sun is the eaiset. Both of these hotels are just across the street from DTD. And you can usually get a 24 hour rental from Dollar for about $35.

This one I have not done, but if you are at a monorail resort the best option might be ther hertz at Shades of Green.

There is always the alamo at the car care center...but having a shuttle pick me up always sounds like too much of a hassle to me. I'd prefer to just walk to something near my hotel if possible.
