One Cinderella looks different from another or any character

So I plan to take my DD age 5 to CRT on one of the days and also thought with the reviews 1900 Park fare would also be good for more interaction. Has anyone encounter their kids noticing that one Cinderella for example looked different from another? I was planning on going 2 days after and kids are quite bright. Just wondering if they notice since they truly believe Cinderella is real.

Thanks.

Disney has pretty strict criteria for the hiring of their characters to avoid this problem. We learned a lot about this on a behind the scenes tour.

We took our 7 y/o daughter to 1900 for dinner and the very next day did lunch at Akershus. 2 different Cinderellas. She didn't even notice :)

One of my girls (aged 5) noticed and commented that Cinderella looked different, but I think she believed or wanted to believe so much that she overlooked it or convinced herself she was mistaken!:) When she commented, I just said that I thought she looked the same!

This is the tactic my mom would have used on me when I was little and I would have bought it, no questions asked.

Funny! I told my daughter the same thing..."they don't look any different to me". Unfortunately, my dd8 is too observant (about everything), and then continued to ask how Jasmine could be at MK and then be at Epcot shortly after. I had to conjure up this whole big "flying carpet" story and how fast carpets go. I'm very sad to say, I think this is the last year for her believing. But on a positive note, I can't wait to explain to her that the magic of Disney is in our hearts. I'm sure that conversation will bring tears to my eyes when I see her "get it"

My experience has been that they notice when they're at the point that they're questioning if the characters are real or not. If they want to continue believing in the magic then answering that you can't see a difference will work. If they want to "figure out" what's really going on then nothing you say will bring them back to believing in the magic.

My kids both LOVED believing in the magic and to this day will play along. DD13 used to love wispering in my ear that she knew that these were actors (sorry for spoiling the magic for those of you who didn't know LOL) but that she wanted to help keep the magic alive for her little sister so she'd play along. How sweet is that? They enjoy talkign with the characters as though they're the real thing but so do DH and I. It really is enchanting and a wonderful part of our trip.

We actually do a photobook of our girls with characters (these are our autograph books; it's lots of fun) and you can definitely see the difference between actors in the pictures but they just don't care.

At 5, if you as parents are into the magic of Disney then she'll likely be into the magic of Disney. It does help for you to start off with something like "how great to see you again" when the character first comes to the table in order to give a cue to the actor that she should play along with having already met you. They really are good about picking up on little cues like that in order to keep the interaction feeling real.

My 5 yo noticed the difference in Ariel she saw on Sunday at the meet and greet and the one she saw at CRT the next day. Honestly they looked sooooo different it would have been hard to not notice. One was not very animated and a very round face with petite features. The other, very skinny face and very animated face with big eyes. Same a PP I just said I didn't see any difference at all and oh look here comes Belle ;)

My 5yo son didn't notice last summer. We did CRT one day and Akersus 2 days later and even ended up with the same exact Jasmine and she remembered him. He was in heaven. :lovestruc

My DH would be in heaven too!! :rotfl: He :lovestruc Jasmine!

So funny - at CRT there was a toddler boy who was completely uninterested in taking pics with the princesses until Jasmine strolled up. He shot over towards her with a huge grin ready for the camera! :lmao: Must be the outfit!

This last trip was the first one DD noticed. She also asked why Pluto had a zipper up his back. This was also the year she asked about Santa and her elf. I think this may have been our last year of believing in the magic and not just Disney. It makes me so sad. The Santa questions started because of kids at school.

She has her pictures from CRT on her bookshelf and its a different Cinderella in each one. She also has pictures with different Cinderellas in her autograph books and she had never noticed or at least she didn't say anything until this year.

She'll be 8 in March.
