Has anyone been watching this new program? (It's on again tonight..)

It's a reality type show - family of four.. Mom, Dad, 17 yr. old DD, and 13 yr. old DS.. They all range in weight somewhere between 300 and 400 lbs.. Due to a serious discussion with the pediatrician regarding the DS's weight and possible health issues, they are on a quest to lose weight through exercise and making better food choices.. (No gastric bypass surgeries or anything of that nature..)

It's been quite interesting so far - and I give them all the credit in the world for trying to make these very difficult changes.. However - since it is a "reality" show, I'm torn between feeling as though this family is being exploited (for entertainment purposes) or if it's truly meant to be "inspirational" for others facing the same issues..

What do you all think? I guess I've become somewhat jaded in regards to many of these reality shows due to the Gosselin disaster; the scripted "Bachelor/Bachelorette" shows; etc..

Good idea or not? Just curious as to what others think..

Those kids are that young? WOW! I'm really surprised. I haven't watched the show at all. The only preview I was the ambulance driving into the park (i assume someone passed out or couldn't breathe)....

Hmmm, I'm torn. American Idol, homework or this....hmmm

It's not a new show it has been on for a while. I really do like the family. I think they seem very real and down to Earth. It was on TLC Did it get moved to discovery now?

The only channel I have seen it on is the Discovery Channel - and it was advertised as "new" a few weeks ago.. I don't watch TLC much anymore - basically have the Discovery Channel on because I can continue to crochet without having to constantly stare at the tv to keep up with what's happening..:)

Yes - they definitely seem very real and down to earth..:goodvibes

I hope they're successful with their quest to become healthy and lose a significant amount of weight - and it doesn't turn out to be some sort of exploitation that destroys the family..

I'm particularly concerned with the children.. It's kind of sad that they didn't address these issues a long time ago, but "late" is far better than "never"..:thumbsup2
