One bedrooms vs. studios

I am confused i stayed at PIT and there were two bathrooms in the one bedroom, not one

BCV was very kind to to us and housekeeping brought us a rollaway bed for free and the housekeeper made the bed for us with sheets, blankets etc.

I wouldnt expect them to do this so I gave her a nice tip, she was very kind. I think they usually will bring a rollaway for a charge

Were you staying on points or in a cash room? Officially you are supposed to provide your own extra bedding for a 5th person in a 1BR at BCV and BWV and a rollway bed is not offered. I would not count on getting that in the future.

I'm sure they have a few from years ago still and may be able to help on occasion, but I would consider it extra pixie dust when it happens

Points! I guess we were lucky, they didnt give us a hard time at all. They did it for us twice because we had to move rooms. I wont count on it but im glad they did because we really needed it

No idea about GFV

Really interested in Poly tower - I THINK it's like RIV and that would be great.

Riviera, VGF and the Poly tower 1 bedrooms are all very similar as far as set up.

AKV Kidani, BLT, and PVB IT one-bedrooms have two full bathrooms at WDW. So does VGC and VDH in DL.

VGF does not.

VGF has the split stall shower and tub similar to PVB longhouse studios and Riviera studios where two people can shower at the same time in separate areas. The three bathroom layouts differ. I would say PVB longhouse studios have the best (two sinks, one in each bathroom area), then VGF (one sink that can be used while both showers are occupied), then Riviera (sink is with tub, not the toilet/stall shower... where do you wash your hands?!? ).

Supposed to get trash picked up daily, new towels on 4th day for DVC stays.

Reality isn't always the same. We're currently on day 11 of a 12 night stay-we have had trash picked up daily. Other than that, nothing. However, I asked for towels, coffee, and sugar and they gave them to me. But never changed sheets or brought anything to refill supplies.

I’m sorry you didn’t get your full cleaning. Was your stay all booked on the same reservation?

Or was it two on two different memberships? I have read that sometimes can cause housekeeping to think it’s two stays and not one and so they don’t give the cleaning like they should.

I’d definitely let the manager know you were missed for both full cleaning and trash and towel.

Yeah it's connected and you can leave the door open if it's only you, but if someone is in the tub shower area and needs privacy I guess you go to the kitchenette?

Sure enough-after I wrote this, housekeeping showed up and said that we were due to have our linens changed that day! Not when we're leaving the next day. And I know the front desk had it right because she said "and I see you're staying for 12 days". I wonder if they came by one of the days when I put out the "Room Occupied" sign and latched the door because I was taking a shower and no one else was there. That only happened a couple of times, and the sign was out for an hour or two each time, but it would be my luck.

While I'm on the topic, I should also add that I was surprised by the fact that DVC rooms don't get daily housekeeping.
We did not know this beforehand; just learned about it a few days ago in the orientation call.

Yes. The amenities are the same as for the Disney deluxe hotels. It’s just housekeeping that’s different. And for some 1BR such as BWV, DVC points can book 5 guests while cash are limited to 4.

When staying in a 1BR with five, we have gone the air mattress route a few times with our kids. Worked out well for us.

Most toiletries are provided - shampoo, conditioner, body wash, handsoap, toilet paper, kleenex. Toothpaste is not provided.

Back when DVCs had the couch beds, and we had a 5th guest, at the resorts that wouldn't provide a rollaway bed, we'd order mattress foam pads. they would bring up to 4 of them, single size. Rather than use them on the couch mattress, we stacked and wrapped them in a bedsheet, and it made for an acceptable bed on the floor and saved having to bring our own air mattress or bedding. It worked fine for a bunch of 20-somethings up there to party around and enjoy.

I often go solo or with 1 friend, and since I have enough points to support it, I pretty much always pick the 1-bedrooms. Biggest advantage over studios is the availability...studios always book fast, and that tends to leave lots of 1-bedroom inventory - since I go 4 or 5 times a year, that makes it easier to book even on shorter notice - sometimes I'm booking trips only 4-6 months out and can usually still find a 1-bedroom somewhere.
