Hi all, asking this for a friend.

They are a family of six.... 2 adults. 2 five years olds and two 2 year olds. Would they be allowed in a One bedroom?

If not at BCV, BWV, OKW, VWL or SSR can will they allow them in a one bedroom at BLT or AKV? Since the babies are under three would this work?

Thanks for any advice.

When interior refurbishment is completed at OKW it is expected that occupancy in 1 bedroom villas will be raised to five plus 1 child under age 3 but as of now that hasn't been stated by DVC; so presently at OKW and BCV,BWV,SSR,VWL they'd be over what is permitted because one of their kids age 2yrs will be counted as fifth guest and not as child under age three. For BLT and AKV one child age 2 will still get counted as fifth but those villas do allow one child under age 3 in addition to five guests.

:goodvibes

OKW remodeling has only just begun (sounds like a song, doesn't it?;))

They are a family of five plus one because only one child under the age of three doesn't count towards occupancy.

Just to clarify, AKV Jambo 1 bedrooms only hold 4 + 1. AKV Kidani 1 bedrooms hold 5 + 1.

Clarification, AKV VALUE one bedroom sleeps four plus one. The AKV STANDARD and SAVANNA sleep five plus one.

I thought it was just that the Value 1 bedrooms at Jambo hold 4+1. At least I hope so since I have 5 booked in a one bedroom at Jambo -Standard in June and NONE of us are under 3! :scared1:

Ok, so their options will be for a one bedroom, any BLT or AKV 1 bedroom EXCEPT the Value AKV at Jambo. Or of course they could do a two bedroom.

Think I have it! Thanks guys!

I know I will get flamed on this... but if they are driving and the little kids aren't on the dining plan or need park tickets what is the drawback of having the extra little one in the room illegally? I know, I know occupancy codes but is BLT and AKV one bedrooms really that much bigger that you can't fit one tiny little person? I am not going to tell them that because I don't want them to break the rules, but it just seems so silly to me to have them get this huge two bedroom. Any other options? There isn't a place on Disney property for a family of six is there. Oh wait All Stars, but I just can't send them there because can you imagine two parents, four children and two strollers on and off buses the entire time. OH now that I think of it, that is what it will be like at AKV. But if they drive they can just drive to the park right! OH well, I will let them know what I found out. Sounds like BLT is the best way to go for this family.

Thanks for helping out!

Because they might as well start learning the rules now and not whine later on when they can't fit six (or seven if the family grows) in that same one bedroom villa. The Fort Wilderness Cabins also sleep six (like the All Stars Family Suites).

You are absolutely right. I stand corrected. That's what I get for posting in haste. My apologies. :guilty:

In the nearly worst case scenario (short of utter annihilation), if there's a fire and all adults are knocked out and kids are too scared to communicate and count people, firefighters will only look for the max occupancy number of people. Leaving one person in the room.

That's enough reason for me!

Since the original question has been answered and the thread is now straying into debating the occupancy rules, I am closing this thread.

Those who wish to continue discussing occupancy may do so in the "Max Occupancy in DVC Resorts" thread.
