They need to go back so you can get a rest.
Thanks, It is great news.

Yes they do!! Tomorrow they go back!!! Now wait is that a good thing or a bad thing? Still haven't figured that one out but at least I'll only have to deal with one for a few hours instead of all 3. Also have to finish getting everything ready for when I do go into labor. Finish packing my hospital bag, pack the kids an overnight bag, and confirm all my rides are in place for when I do go into labor.

AHHHHHH!!! So precious!! Happy he's home!!!

Judy hope you all are on the mend and are feeling better now!!

Hey guys. I posted on here back in Aug (actually I believe it was another thread but I think this is the newer thread :) ). I have not been back on really since I posted. Just a recap but my lil guy Diego was diagnosed with Kidney cancer and had his kidney removed in July and 2 weeks later started chemo. I am happy to say that he finished chemo in Dec. Had a clear scan and on Friday had surgery to have his port removed. He is doing great. Our journey is in no way over. We have to go once a month to the day hospital for antibiotics, we still need to do a post opp from surgery and in March check up with his doctor and then CT scan. We will be doing scans every 3 months for the next three years (then every 6 months for 2 years and at 5 years it goes to every year for the rest of his life). He will have to have Eco-cardiogram because the chemo could have damaged his heard and we will continue to monitor his kidney because chemo can cause damage to that and since he only has one this can be serious and could eventually lead to needed dialysis and/or kidney transplant. Hopefully none of this will happen (he also has a greater risk of getting a second cancer because of chemo and all the radiation).

He is doing great with the exception of some nerve issues caused by the chemo. He has trouble with his hands and writing. He used to love to color and draw (and was really good at it) but he has not done either by his own will since before chemo. He also missed a ton of school so we are trying to get him caught up which has been difficult.

On brighter news he is being granted a Wish from Make a Wish. He wished to go to the batcave (where ever that is lol) and backup wish is to go to Legoland in Orlando, which would mean Give Kids the World and Disney :)

I am going to try to catch up on this thread with you all but it will probably take me weeks lol.

Tracy, loving the baby pics. So glad he's home!

Judy, less than 7 days now!!

Diegosmom, Glad Diego is doing better. I know he'll love the Star Wars stuff at LEGOLAND if that's where his wish takes him. I don't know where the batcave is either? I guess they wouldn't want the Joker finding out!

Did you hear screams of joy yesterday? It may have been coming from my house, we told the children that a very sweet Fairy Godmother has given each of us two day/one park tickets to Disney World...We will spend one day at Magic Kingdom and one day at Epcot!!! I LOVE surprises and this one was huge!!! That means we get to have some fun touring the parks with Tracy!! Sometimes Thank You seems so inadequate, but I am feeling my blessings...Next Monday we will wake up in Florida and now we have some Disney Magic sprinkled on top!!

Kathy, Praying for safe travels for Andy.

Glad for the update on Diego.

To all of you, THANK YOU for your support, your prayers, your love. I hope to be back to update more on the trip soon....which is in SIX days!!

As a matter of fact, I do think that I heard the faint sound of screaming drifting along with the wind yesterday. :rotfl: Seriously, what a wonderful blessing! Seems like the Fairy Godmother sprinkled some serious pixie dust!

Oh, Judy, that is wonderful news!!! We just got back from our trip to Tucson last night (turned out to be 19 hours in the car getting back, I think my neck will have a crick in it for a few days!) and I haven't caught up on the whole thread yet, just saw this newest page and I am sooooo excited for you all! I can't wait to see your updates from this trip. Prayers that everyone will stay healthy and feel their very best for this magical time!

What an incredible fairy godmother you have! That's so wonderful that you'll get two park days! That would be a HUGE surprise!!!!

Ahhhhh Judy!!! I am overjoyed at this news!!! So excited that you will get two days in Disney, you and your family completely deserve it. I hope your foot is feeling better. Can't wait to hear more updates!

I haven't checked in for awhile but I hope everyone is feeling better. Can't believe its just 1 more week until the big trip. What amazing pixie dust! What an incredible fairy godmother!

It sounds like great new on this thread! The baby going home and the Disney trip in jut a week. Now to pray for good weather for your trip.
It was -11 degrees with a wind chill of -34 when I left for school this morning. BRRRR! Our kids had a scheduled day off because of semester break so it was a work day for teachers. I don't mind going in on cold days when the kids get off because I can get so much done in the way of planning, cleaning, etc that I would have to stay after or go in early for. It will be good to see my kids tomorrow after 2weeks plus 1 day. It is hard to believe that the school year is half over already.
Have a great time on your trip.

Wow! What wonderful pixie dust you have been sprinkled with! pixiedust:

I have just about caught up on all the news. So glad to hear that Emile is home, what a cutie pie :goodvibes Now it's time for him to eat and grow, without the stress of the hospital!

Judy, I hope everyone is feeling well. I'm sure you're going to be busy with packing and preparing for the trip, among all your other regular duties this week. :crazy2: The good news is that there's a relaxing end in sight!:cool1:

Just a quickie update on Catherine. Her angiogram at CHOP didn't go as well as expected. She's a vascular access nightmare (I'm sure Lisa is as well!), so they had to do the renal angio from the brachial artery. Well, once they did the angioplasty on the severely stenosed renal artery, the vessel completely shut off...they weren't sure if it was a clot or vasospasm, so they treated her for both immediately--TPA, Nitroglycerin, more balloon--and finally they got partial flow back to the kidney. But it was scary, because she only has one kidney. Creatinine is still not back to normal, but function is hanging in there. We are hopeful things continue to improve, but we are one month out from the procedure, so I'm afraid this may be her new baseline. THen, when they pulled out the access from the brachial artery, she had developed a pseudoaneurysm up to her axilla! 90 minutes of ultrasound guided pressure to make that clot. She was under anesthesia for 9 hours this day. Lucky us, we got to spend the next 4 days in the CICU at CHOP. Normally for a renal procedure, we would have been in the PICU, but we were lucky that there wasn't any beds there, because we love the care and the nurses in the CICU! The worst part of all of this is that the procedure was hoped to improve her hypertension, but we are still on the same meds we started with. But, she feels good and is back to school and normal activities. It's been a rough fall with too many trips to Philly, but it's worth it for the care we are getting there. We go back up to see her nephrologist in a couple of weeks.

OKay--I will try to keep up here better!! I'm so excited for your trip!! :goodvibes

Hi Judy!! Wow!! That is completely awesome!! I'm so glad that you and your family will be building some great memories and enjoying the parks as well. And only a week away!! :woohoo:

The craziness of packing and preparing for the week ahead is such a delight when it's travel to WDW! Praying that all goes well and you enjoy the anticipation.
