I think Orlando could use a Haunted House. No, I am not talking about those "Conga-style" walkthrough houses ala Skull Kingdom and what you get at Halloween Horror Nights (although they are great in their own way). I mean a creepy two story house recreated after the 19th century, where you are free to roam wherever you want, whenever you want.

I think thats a good idea - just wouldn't want to stay the night there though. :scared1:

I am sure there is something like that at the top of i-drive - it doesn't appeal to me so I've never investigated further, but we have driven past a haunted house type place.

The last thing we need is another tourist trap attraction.

There is a Haunted House that is supposed to be good in Old Town on the 192 -the one with the ferris wheel not the old part of Kissimmee itself.

I am aware of that one, but it is the same style of moving guests through a follow the leader format (hence the name "conga-style"). I was specifically talking about a house that you're free to roam and explore, a very dark house with creaking floors, trap doors, paintings that change, ghost effects, one that tells a story (albeit a ficticious one) and doesn't rush us through all the sights because there are others behind us. One that you can get lost in, and have to find your way back in the dark.

The haunted house in Old Town is very much a cookie cutter type one. If you are a true thrill seeker I don't think it would suffice.

One cool thing about that Old Town house, however, is you can personalize your experience if it's not too busy. If I remember correctly, you tell the ticket booth person (on a scale of 1 to 5) how scary you want it, and through the help of video cameras following your moves, the scareactors only go as far as your request.

I would like to see a theme park based on Harry Potter books.
