ok, silly question but I have no clue..

once you're at a home away from home resort on rented points what's is the process for housekeeping and other things? my vacation includes a very tired mom who will want to do the whole relaxing at home bit and she'll want room servce and other things. do we pay that out of pocket or is that arranged with the person renting you the points?

if you really want housekeeping then you pay out of pocket.

You need to arrange it with the front desk when you check in.

only certain DVC resorts have room service - BWV, BCV and VWL.

that is a pay as you go service - or you can bill it to your room and pay it with your credit card on file at the front desk.

If you want room service, you'll have to stay at one of the DVC resorts that are attached to a Disney resort hotel. So you would want Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas, or the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. And if you are staying on points, you get trash and towel service on your 4th day. If you want maid service daily, you would have to pay extra for that. You can leave a charge card on file at the front desk for charging at the resort when you check in. They can even put charging capability on your room keys if you want. We also always do express checkout so we don't have to come back to the front desk on checkout day. On checkout day, Disney's leaves an itemized bill of the charges on our door.

The other DVC locations at WDW are Saratoga and Old Key West and they are a condo setup with no room service available as they are not attached to hotels.
