Regarding Greg Mendel, I'm still wondering why he was driving into Storybrooke.

Also, why or how did Neil remember his former identity when he was in NYC? How did Hook cross the town lines and not forget who he was?

They were not brought to Storybrook as part of the curse, therefore they are not affected by that.

I was wondering the same thing, especially about Hook.

Hook can cross the town lines because he was not brought there by the original curse. He got to Storybrooke in a different way. That's also why Emma and Pinochio/August can cross without being affected.

I can't remember if this was talked about before in this thread, but I'm wondering what the significance of Greg Mendel's name is. Presumably he is named for the Gregor Mendel who is the father of genetics. So will his role have to do with somehow uncovering the genetic makeup of the town, family tree sort of thing?

Crazy thought--was the boy in the orphanage with a young August Greg Mendel? I always thought it Bae. If he was the one who ran away with August, wouldn't he have known who Emma was?

And I really loathe Cora. With a mother like that Regina was cursed to be evil.

We haven't watched Once Upon a Time since it started so not sure how long those 2 have been in it.

LOVE that she was in this episode!!!! too bad about what happened however.. can't believe Mary Margaret believed that nothing would happen to her even if she gave up the dagger.. shame on her..

I just watched this episode and I missed what Bae's fiancee said her name was. I swear the second word was Moira (as in Wendy's granddaughter) but none of you are discussing that so maybe I misheard?

Watched the preview and all I have to say is Regina better wise up to her mother.

Nice casting. Is it just me or is young Prince Henry significantly taller than old King Henry was? So if Henry was the actual heir to his fathers throne it's kind of funny how he seemed so powerless. And why was Cora so desperate to have Regina marry into being a Queen when she should have been the natural heir to her own throne? Something's missing. I'm sure they will fill us in but when you start piecing everything together it seems like Henry loses his kingdom sometime between when Regina is born and when Cora sends Regina off on her fateful riding lesson.
