Once Upon A Time

I loved the episode last night. The guy in the first seen could be Bae but I think that is too obvious. As far as Dr. Whale, when he made the comment about David not being his prince, I wonder if he has his own kingdom. Could he possibly be Ariel's father?

My only hope is that the creators somehow bring back the huntsman. :goodvibes

That's a good thought! I don't necessarily think he is King Triton (he just gives off a bad guy vibe to me) but if he comes from the sea then he wouldn't be under Davids rule. I bet he is the whale from Pinocchio.

That does sound good. But if I did something like that Ithink I would get the  or :sad2: from DH. Meaning he would see it as going overboard for a show. Although we did have dinner in the living room last night b/c it wasn't going to be ready prior to 7 pm.

My DH is just happy when I'm cooking. He doesn't care why I'm doing it.

I heard a theory that the guy in the beginning of the ep receiving the postcard is both Bae AND Henry's dad...that would be interesting. He did have a sign up in his room that said something Hatter..so could be a connection there as well. Also, wasn't there an ep where Augsust was on the phone with someone and we dont' know who...maybe he was calling him?

Also, when Emma mentioned Jefferson to Regina she looked like she didn't remember him at all. A side effect of the wraith?

Also noticed the love triangle with Mulan and Aurora. Was cool that his I love you wasn't specific!

Will be interesting to see if Regina has her magic back now or it was just temporary as a result from touching Emma. Or maybe because Emma is no longer in Storybrooke, that is why she has magic again.

What about this theory....the guy at the beginning is Bae. Rumple some how figured out that when Bae jumped into the hole where the magic bean was it took him to Earth. Maybe his plot all along was to get to his son. Isn't he the one who gave Regina the curse in the first place? Kind of coincidental he gives her a spell that takes him to the same world his son is in. The only problem he couldn't leave Storybrooke to go see Bael. Maybe he though he'd bring Bae to him. He knew Emma was coming in 28 years. Bae fathering Emmas child and that child being in Storybrooke could lead Bae to Storybrooke. We will have to wait and see how far reaching Mr Gold could be. How could he manipulate evens happening outside Storybrooke?

And the postcard? Broken? As in the spell is broken....sent by who? Maybe his Dad?

I loved last night's episode! Loved the casting of Mulan, is she gorgeous or what? I've seen the actress in other roles but I love her as Mulan! I was bummed that Prince Phillip was "soul sucked" I thought he was adorable. I hope he isn't dead-dead, just soul-sucked-dead and we get to see him again (in flashbacks and real time).

I, too, suspect the dude in the beginning is either Rumple's son, Henry's dad, or both! I'd love to see that play out.

I loved the Charming family reunion. But how weird is it that Emma, Snow, and Charming are all the same age and Henry is calling them Grandma and Grandpa? LOL Thought that was funny. I always liked David better as Charming, it's good to see him with a backbone and mind of his own again.

Loved Belle. Loved Rumple. Love to hate Regina. But most of all I love that my kids, even the teenaged ones, all gather so we can watch the show together. So glad our Sunday tradition is back!

Can't wait to see more!

I loved it too. I like how they left it open for Phillip to come back. Mulan said that sound was the sound of souls trying to escape. Maybe his soul will escape and make it back to his body.

I also was surprised that Regina didn't know who Jefferson was. Maybe she was just putting on a front for Emma? The again, this show being what it is, I'm sure there's a much bigger explanation.

Grant gets his memory back and now Regina gets her magic. We've been told over and over that true love is the most powerful magic of all. If Emma is the product of true love, imagine all the powers she must have that haven't been discovered yet.

As for the safe haven for the people left in Fairytale world, I wonder if the safe haven is Neverland? I wonder how Rumple will use the favor that he is still owed by Emma? Also, did anyone else notice during the brief blip during the preview of what's yet to come at the end of the show that it looked like Snow steps between Emma and what looks like Regina's mother?

I am in love with this show. So much going on. So many questions. Not enough answers..LOL

I think Regina is lying. She knows who Jefferson is. I think Emma has magic some how. I won't forget how she made Jefferson's hat work before some how. Now we see her touch Regina and suddenly Regina has her magic back.

Based on the previews you might be right about Neverland. I think Dr Whale might be someone from Neverland.

Ok, something I don't understand, might have missed it somewhere, but in the re-cap show, when Regina brought her father back through the hat, where is he now? Did she not bring him back to Storybrooke?

No she brought him back to FTL. I too think this was something that happened in the past before she kills him.

Ginny Goodwin made several comments about that on her Twitter feed last night.

We thought that too when he first came on screen. My alternate theory though is he is one of Peter Pan's lost boys, or could be Peter himself (actually I think Dr. Whale is Peter). He has a lot of Indian-type momentos in his apartment, and it looks like he has a drawing of a Big Ben-esque clock on one of his walls. Eh who knows. Most of my theories don't pan out. I promised myself I'd just watch this season instead of over analyzing every episode and looking for hidden clues. That promise didn't last very long.

Thats a good thought. We know some Capt Hook stuff is coming based on the previews

Ohhhh, interesting theory! We noticed the hatter reference on the wall as well and wondered if there was any connection. I was also wondering why Regina didn't remember Jefferson. That caught me completely off guard.

We also wondering what happened to August/Pinocchio :confused3

I'm sure it is a connection as it was a large sign and had obvious placement.

We heard last season that the Queen of Hearts would be back. I'm wondering of the Queen of Hearts has something to do with Regina forgetting who Jefferson is/was.

I loved this episode! Random scattred thoughts ahead- I think the safe haven in FTL is Neverland. I wish we could've seen August and Ghepetto or Ghepetto looking for August(I'm sure it's coming). I loved loved loved the way Snow is interacting with Emma now. Those were my favorite scenes. I hated that they changed Belle's hair(for consistency reasons) . Whale is driving me flippin' nutso! Who is he? I loved Emma's like -wth I went through all of that crap with that crazy hatter Jefferson for nothing look- when she saw Regina had Jefferson's hat. The "oh" face Rumple makes at Regina once she realizes what he did to her(wraith) was wonderful! Is it Sunday yet??? I think the guy in he beginning is working with Rumple for sure.

I was thinking maybe he's the Sea Witch -- They've mucked up a number of tales already, so perhaps it's a guy? Or Captain Nemo?

I like this theory. :thumbsup2

Whale and Monstro is too obvious. Then again, they did show Monstro a couple of times during the recap.

Like what everyone is coming up with...Totally thought dementors when I saw them! One thing that this show has taught me - and as a teacher I try to get my kids to do this when they read - is to look closely at everything and try to make connections...So here is my potentially off the wall connection. I noticed that in the season finale of last year (and this part was replayed just before the new episode) Henry answers his mother's question of "what is that" (when the purple magic cloud is approaching) with a response of "something bad." Prince Phillip just after the wraith left them the first time answered Princess Aurora's question "what was that" with the exact same phrase of "something bad." The only thing I can't figure out is the time sequence - because then at the end of the episode snow and emma appeared there.

I know I'm probably reaching here but that is what makes this show so much fun!

Good catch. :thumbsup2 We'll have to wait and see if it is significant.

Have we ever seen Dr. Whale and August or Marco interact? Not that they would have known who they really were, but there were usually little hints of recognition when the Storybrooke personalities mingled with someone they were "close" to in Fairytale land.

I don't think any of them have interacted - at least not that I can remember.

One other thing I completed enjoyed - and was sooooo hoping that it would happen - was the moments where all the main characters sort of "found" each other. It almost brought tears to my eyes - especially the moment when the dwarves met up with Snow.

Up until now I've been okay with them rearranging the stories. But Mulan being in love with Philip is just not okay, he's Aurora's prince.

That did seem kind of strange to me, too

I had a hard time with Aurora I kept seeing her as Megara...

I agree about prince Phillip too weird...

I don't think Phillip can love Mulan. If he did then his love for Aurora would not be true and he never would have been able to break the spell. Mulan seems like she's in love with Phillip though.

A lot of this episode bugged me. With the main conflict resolved (ie, the Curse), I started to wonder what exactly they were going to do this season. Once Emma and Snow got transported back to their homeland, it got interesting.

It bothers me that they are throwing in what I feel to be out of place characters. Mulan? Captain Hook? Lancelot?!?

The mysterious stranger angle got played out once already with August. Do we really need to do that all over again? Especially if they starting hinting that he is Baelfire (again!).

It seems like everyone affected by the curse has been somebody that crossed Regina (where as Aurora, Phillip, and Mulan probably haven't). I'm not sure having Dr. Whale be the actual whale makes sense.

Why did Regina ask who Jefferson was? Was she not aware that was the man the Hatter was using in this world?

I love that my favorite show is back, but I hated hated hated the whole Aurora/Philip/Mulan storyline. It was just downright stupid. A love triangle?? Really???

And Mulan's character didn't even fit the storyline. There was NO reason for Mulan to be there. It's almost as if she were an afterthought.

As much as I love new characters to be introduced, I'd rather they just not be thrown in there just for the sake of having a new character. Give them some meaning... some substance.... a storyline that is meaningful to that particular character...

I think we'll be seeing a lot of the triangle's backstory during the season. It could even come out that they're brother and sister or something.

this show is like a combination of my two very fav things Disney and the TV show LOST.

One question, I have never seen any of the Harry P movies BUT are wraiths also characters from LOTR?

My husband pointed out to me that the wraith is from Lord of the Rings, and the concept could go back further.

The term "wraith" is Scottish, and has been applied to ghosts, spectres, apparitions, portents, and omens.

In Lord of the Rings, the Nazgûl, or Ringwraiths, are the nine men (lords, warriors, and sorcerers) who were given nine of the rings forged by Sauron. They are controlled by the One Ring and Sauron himself. They have no visible physical form, and wear black cloaks so they can be perceived. They do no have the ability to suck souls.

Dementors in the Harry Potter universe are soulless beings that can suck the souls out of muggles and wizardfolk. They are blind, but sense human emotion. They have no eyes, a hole where their mouth should be, and gray, decaying hands. Their ability to suck the souls out of humans is similar to ability of the wraiths in Once Upon a Time.
