Once Upon A Time

Love the thoughts/theories on this thread! I have been watching the show (thank goodness for TiVo, b/c I was getting up for work at 3am on the weekends last quarter..). This sunday is the season finale, right? Has the show been renewed?

Not the season finale yet! But with a post like that, who needs coffee this morning!

In this article, the writers divulge that episode 18 we will find out what happened between the Evil Queen and Snow, and that it is before the end of the season!
I love the quote they used, "Evil's not born- it is made." And hopefully we will get a real name for the Evil Queen- so I can stop referring to her as the Evil Queen. It is a lot to type!

I think it was in the Genie episode that in Fairytale world someone called her Regina too?

I just want to say I LOVE THIS SHOW! Ginnifer Goodwin is such a sweet snow white. I cant stand the evil queen. Ugh this show is so amazing!

I love it when an interviewer actually watches the show.

ER: Can you tell me what the visual effects budget is like on “Once”?

AH: There is no budget. It’s all done with magic.

ER: I thought magic always comes with a price! Isn’t that what Rumpelstiltskin says?

EK: Yes, it does! We’re not a cheap show. But we’re not the most expensive show.

And I think someone asked about Emma's last name earlier in this thread. It is answered in the interview.

ER: Is there something more to Emma’s last name? Is there an ugly duckling or swan princess connection for her?

EK: We chose the name because it’s the metaphor for her journey, to become the swan. And right now I don’t think she is. The funny thing about Emma is theoretically, if she truly believed what’s going on, she’s a princess. But if you told Emma Swan she was a princess she’d … laugh at you.

My theory is that she is Rose Red, and the story will be twisted that Snow and Rose were friends rather sisters. Weak theory, but it's all I got. :rotfl:

On another note, when DD was 5 she and I dressed as Snow White and the Evil Queen for Halloween. We have decided to do it again this year, but as the OUAT Snow and Evil Queen. DD will be Snow in her "woods" wear, and I'm not sure which of the EQs outfits to try and replicate. I loved the one at the end of last week's episode! Just not sure we can pull these off of MNSHHP...it will be way to hot to strutt around MK in all that black!

Okay, great episode, but something popped out at both my seven year old and me. When Emma went to the wishing well with the "stranger in town," he said that he always tells the truth. We both looked at each other and said, "Pinocchio!" It's probably a silly theory, but I think the theories of him being one of the Grimm brothers or the author of the storybook are too obvious.

And am I the only one who thinks that Catherine's suitor is a bit young for her? I thought he was just one of the high school kids when they panned in on him, but then I knew there was a reason why they were doing so. Ah, this show drives me nuts in a good way :lmao:.

Hmmm...I just went on a different forum and now see that the stranger (or August) had changed the book. How I missed this, I don't know. I still think he could be Pinocchio, because that wooden puppet wasn't really known for following the rules.

No such thing as a silly theory when it comes to the creators of this show. The only reason I would say it might not be Pinocchio is that in the pilot Pinocchio was a boy when he helped Geppetto build the wardrobe that Emma escapes in. He should still be a boy in our world. However, it wouldn't be the first inconsistency in the storyline for Pinnochio to age and live outside of Storybrooke. And let's face it, if you were going to hurt Geppetto, wouldn't you make sure he was separated from his happy ending? Hmmmm.

When I was looking for pictures for our Halloween costumes, I ran across a post on a website where the person thought August was the boy who found Emma. Another interesting one.

I thought the same thing about Kathryn's suitor! I swore he a high school kid, and figured he'd end up being some sort of stable boy that would play in to the story later. He looked older in that last shot when he finds the car, but otherwise, looked pretty darn young.

Too true! I went back and watched the first full episode he was in, and when Regina approaches Emma to tell her to investigate the stranger in town she says "There is something familiar about him," yet she doesn't know who he is. It would make sense that the EQ may not regard the boy Pinocchio, and since Geppetto and Pinocchio finished the wardrobe at the last possible moment, it is possible that Pinocchio hid in the wardrobe as well. He would then be the kid who finds Emma, and he would age like Emma did, and he could know all the stories of the people in Storybrooke to have written the book.

He also wears that purple-ish bandana in a couple of episodes including tonight. Pinocchio probably had a neckerchief of some sort. I'm going to re-watch the pilot to see. And also to see if Geppetto ran in alone to tell PC and Snow the wardrobe was ready. If so, then it would be a possibility that Pinnochio hid or Geppetto hid him in the wardrobe despite the Blue Fairy saying there was only enough magic for one person in the wardrobe. Perhaps she meant one adult or two children.

Nice theory Kimbysmom!

I don't know what he did to the book. It showed him dipping the pages in a liquid and then hanging them to dry. He sewed the pages into the binding.

Tried to see if there was a year on Emma's license plate but it just looked like the month renewal, not the year.

I was surprised that the Prince did not tell Catherine the truth but really hate that Regina stole the letter. I just wish Regina didn't win all the time. I also think there are way to many characters, I can't keep track of everyone.

I don't believe its Pinocchio. He wasn't in the wardrobe when the Prince put Emma in and he locked it when he closed the doors. There was a gap of about 30 seconds after the fight with the queen's men and then they broke the lock and she was gone.

The biggest mystery of last night's show was what August was doing to the book. Was that a re-written version and he was trying to make it look aged by dipping the pages in water and then drying them? If it was a re-written version, did it influence what happened to David's wife at the end?

I'm convinced that his name has something to do with who he is August W. Booth. He said what his middle initial stood for but I can't remember!! I love the mystery of it all. :cloud9:

It looked like he was adding the pages of the story of Abigail and Frederick.

i agree. I'm getting tired of everything getting shot down and Regina winning all the time. Why couldn't he have just gotten the note? Then Catherine would have had a happy ending, and that would have made Regina even more mad, that things are starting to slip through her grasp.

I was wondering that, too, when I saw him dipping the pages into some liquid, drying them and then stitching them into the binding. Did he change the book and dipped the pages in the liquid to "age" them? Was he preserving the book in the liquid? And did he add pages to the book? Didn't Henry rip some pages out of the back of the book in one of the early episodes when Regina took the book away from him? Maybe August put those pages back?

As for Catherine, I don't think we have a murder mystery as a PP said. Wanna bet we find her in a neighboring cell where Regina has Belle stashed away?

I really wish the good guys would win once in a while. The last time anything good happened was when Ashley/Cinderella had her baby in Storybrooke and she and Sean got back together. Regina is too evil, and that's going to get tired real quick if she doesn't lose once in a while.
