Once Upon a Time~ PART 2~

The show has redeemed itself for another season. If Elsa is anything like Zelina I am giving up! I enjoyed the finale. I felt bad for Regina cause I do like her, but I was so glad to see Robin's wife back. I am not a fan of that romance.

Great episode over all! Couldn't help but laugh at the similarity to Back to the Future, with Emma watching from the bushes as her parent fell out of the tree!!!!

But is anyone ever going to explain how Rumpelstiltskin and Bella can have a wedding kiss (not to mention hopefully consummating their marriage) without him losing his power?!? Or are we just supposed to forget the entire premise of the show- "true love's kiss can break any curse" and forget that one little peck in season one was enough for The Dark One to start fading?

After reading online about the original fairy tale of the Snow Queen, I wonder if the character won't be more like that and not really Elsa at all. There is something about a mirror and the shards of that mirror and remember, the mirror that was in the room with the urn.
Very interesting! Especially considering a certain mirror's other show is cancelled. Is Mr. Glass returning?

I do think it's a cop-out. Especially since she looked exactly like a live action version of Elsa stepping straight out of the animated movie. All the other fairy tale characters on the show, Disney or otherwise, have their own look that does not rely heavily on the design of their cartoon counterpart.
Really? Ariel is a redhead. Cinderella a blonde in a blue ball gown. Belle is a brunette in a yellow gown when we first see her, and in a blue and white dress when she is in Rumpelstiltskin's castle. Need I go on?

True, but still all those gowns seem more "inspired by" rather than directly lifted, which is what Elsa's gown looked like to me.

Snip... Great episode over all! Couldn't help but laugh at the similarity to Back to the Future, with Emma watching from the bushes as her parent fell out of the tree!!!!

Emma did make a reference to "Marty McFly",
and of course Hook was clueless.
I thought it was funny how she referenced him along
with Snow falling out of the tree.

Didn't they already do a storyline with Genie? Wasn't he Sidney Glass in the first season? Regina cursed him to become the mirror? Or do I have that all wrong?

You got it right...totally slipped my mind!

The creators interview with Time makes reference to an alternate ending that was scripted and shot that includes "another iconic Disney totem" that they will save for future use...very interesting indeed.

The last 30 seconds of last night's episode was the biggest letdown ever. And right after the most jaw-dropping moment..finding out the rescued woman was Maid Marion and what this will do to Regina next season!

Elsa? Really? If it were the Snow Queen I might give it a pass, but the character looked exactly like a live action Elsa. Frozen didn't exist when Once Upon A Time began its first season, so it should never even come into play. Just a shoehorned character to do current popularity. I am so disappointed with the writers for selling out this way. Yuck.

Everything else about this episode was absolutely epic!!! I loved the Back to the Future references! I loved seeing a lot of characters/situations from Season 1. This was a phenomenal episode save for the ending. I am sadly not looking forward to Season 4. But hopefully I'm, wrong about this b/c I love this show :)

Frozen is based off of The Snow Queen, so it did exist before OUAT started. I don't see how it really matters anyway.:confused3
Just like every other character I'm sure she will tie in to some back story and I'm excited to see what that story is.

In my original post, I mentioned the Snow Queen (which, by the way, is a completely different story, but that's neither here nor there)...but it is clearly Elsa, based on the hair, dress, etc. There is a reason the majority of people were hoping the Wicked Witch would not be Elphaba. It should be based off the original story if they want to go the fairy tale route. Look, if they don't name her Elsa, and her story is actually based on the Snow Queen's, then I'll take it back and say I was wrong...but I know a marketing ploy when I see it... When it becomes about merchandising and what's "hot" at the moment, it becomes less and less about storyline/plot and more about selling toys and Blu Rays (i.e. Star Wars Episodes I & II, Cars 2, Transformers, etc.). You'll see - - the writing will suffer because she is shoehorned into the story.

And don't get me wrong, I loved Frozen! I saw it in 3D IMAX, I bought the BluRay...but it's getting to be way too much too quickly. This kind of overload is what makes something a "fad." They pushed the home video release out way too quickly (the movie came out November 27th, 2013 - - the DVDs & BluRays were release March 18th, 2014....less than FOUR months after the theatrical release) and didn't give the public a chance to breathe...and now it's infiltrating Once...I, along with many other people, am sick of Frozen already. I hate to say it, but it's true. They deserved to win the Oscar, it deserves a Broadway show....EVENTUALLY. But it is just too much at one time. Seeing Elsa pop up at the end of that episode had the reverse effect on my fiancee and I then the writers intended.

Again, if they give her a different name and she actually has the Snow Queen's backstory, then I will say I was 100% wrong. But only time shall tell.. Until then, "Who do I look like, Marty McFly?" <--- best line from OUAT to date :)

I feel the same way about Frozen. People are way too o sensed with it and it's just too much.

Is there a particular reason you would have no interest in seeing Frozen?

I have nothing against Frozen, I am just beyond seeing Disney cartoons. My children are grown and I have no grandchildren, so just no interest in animated movies. I know some adults see them without children, but not me.

The neat part about OUAT is that it took a fairy tale we all thought we knew and added interesting twists. If I don't know the original fairy tale, there will be something lacking in the story line.

if they didn't capitalize on the popularity of Frozen it would be one of the worst business/ratings mistakes EVER. With a family friendly 7 p.m (central) time slot on a Sunday? Who wouldn't take advantage of that? You don't wait until next season for something that is hot now. I do feel kinda bad for whomever the actor is that was in the original plan that just got shelved tho. What a bummer to get bumped from a popular show and paycheck. Especially if they passed on other opportunities thinking they were booked w/OUAT.
I think it's time for Hook to head back to his Pirate ways and not such a love struck softy. I think Regina is going to find a way to mess with him as payback to Emma for bringing back Marion (who bores me already) perhaps Regina stikes an agreement with Elsa to freeze him? And IIRC, only Hook knows Emma has her power back. She didn't say HOW they found the portal back to Storybrooke..so I think we will be seeing her being very sly with it . I also think Rumple will need to use the daggar to deal with Elsa, and Belle will discover he lied to her...so trouble in paradise will happen again. No matter what, I'm excited for next season for sure!

This is a show that uses the "B" word and the "A" word regularly. It's not a kid's show.

All I know is that if Ariel becomes a pile of sea foam in OUAT I will be so bummed! I guess I don't mind when the stories are more like the Disney version than the original. I get what your saying though. I love Frozen and am guilty of standing in line for an hour and a half trying to get a stupid Elsa doll for my niece.:sad2: I'm very much with you in the fact that it is now a fad but I'm still very excited to see what they do on Once with their Elsa. We'll just have to see how next season goes. :wizard:

Is it just me or did this season feel extremely long? Not in a bad way, just long.

I agree with post above. Disney would be completely dumb not to take advantage of Frozen's popularity. Think of how many more kids will turn Nickelodeon off and turn on ABC when ONCE comes back in the fall. Broadway--HECK YEAH! why would they wait and them the excitement of Frozen is gone and forgotten. The release of the DVD is planned before the movie releases (same timeline and every Disney November release) and based on Disney's flub with available merchandise, they were wise to keep that March DVD release date.

I also agree that based on the music, there will be evil in Elsa. She most likely is coming for Rumple since it was clear he locked her up.

well as much as I agree with you that those are not child friendly terms, there are indeed a boatload of kids watching this show. Sadly, in today's world those terms are no longer shocking or even that offensive anymore. I'm pretty sure a few of those words have/are being muttered by parents when they get to WDW and find a 300 minute wait for A&E.:rolleyes1 . I mean, I could do away with Viagra commercial's during Wheel of Fortune too...but it's not gonna happen.

NOw, I really want to know how they are going to work the Knave(from UOAT in Wonderland) into next season....

The finale was insane! I am a huge shipper of CaptainSwan so I am super excited Emma finally gave in and let herself feel for HooK! I am sad about the new love triangle with Robin/Marian/Regina but we will see how it plays out, they need drama after all.
I am kind of excited about Frozen but I am just not sure how it will translate. it is all about how the writers do it. I hope that they can make the Snow Queen a good villain because Zelena felt like filler for the rest of the season and I want a good villain for the town to really band together to fight. I think now the Regina is good she needs to stay good, as much as possible, and for her to be seen by the town as good.

Am I the only one that was bothered by Rumple's and Belle's wedding?

Normally, I get all teary eyed at them, but this one bothered me immensely. He deceived Belle - lied right to her face. How could he then stand there, look her in the eyes, and say his vows? And that poor girl... her vows were so heartfelt. I felt simply awful for her. She has no idea what she is marrying. :(

I think he really loves Belle and will still be a better person because of her but his son is dead and I know he isn't going to just let that be. You can tell he is up to something...but I don't know what!

As for the wedding...it did feel weird to me. It felt rushed and I don't understand why they got married in the forrest near the well. It makes me think that it means something more maybe? I can see eloping but I would have pictured it in her library or something.
