Thanks for the Nassau suggestions :)

17 more Fridays I cannot wait. I might make this vacation if work does not kill me first ;)

I need a checklist for everything I need to do before we leave. I bought our trip insurance yesterday (DH thinks it is a waste of money). After reading the DisBoards I found the cruise and ride places to park. It is going to be strange not taking the Disney Transportation but we will give it a whirl.

The girls have Girl Scout Camp next week and I still have yet to get them prepared for that at all.

Hi folks

Just popping in real quickly while I have a spare 3 minutes lol:rolleyes:

Its manic busy here at the moment, having to work overtime at my new job every day which is good for the $$$ but bad because I havent cleaned my house or cooked a proper meal in 3 weeks:rotfl2:

Havent done much towards this or our other crusie at all yet.

I did research Nassau the other day though:thumbsup2

Accoring to a local on Cruise critic Nassau has really cleaned up its act in the last few months and now has quite a police and security presence. This is good to hear as I was a little put off by all the negative comments I was reading.

We'll be going to Junkanoo beach - walkable via the straw markets and past Senor frogs... seems to be clean, friendly with food huts, chairs etc and facilities - suits us for a couple of hours:thumbsup2

On our other visit we'll do the pirate museum and either the same beach or the Sheraton day pass.

Ok, three minutes are up, lol, back to work!:rolleyes1

Just obsessing about that beach. It is on another island. I googled and it says it is 135 miles from Nassau. is that correct.

The only two beaches I've heard people talk about are Cabbage or Cable beach but we are always too busy to go.

I'm in need of some serious info here.. Brand new to cruising with Disney.. Have always been a land lover but Hubby and I have decided to suprise our 3 yahoos (16, 12 and 10) and strike out on our first cruise. To say we are excited is such an understatement! I have been reading many of your posts and want to participate in the FE for sure! Please let me know how to get my name on the list and what I need to do from here.. My name should have been "Newbiecruiser" rather than gomommago.. :) Thanks for any and all help!

I guess I need to do more research:rolleyes1

I found this link on Cruise Critic... http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1296603

I really wish my kids would be good while we shopped I would love that straw market.

Hmmmm, mixed reviews on Junkanoo... someone on there said 12-15 min walk... but if theres things on the way then it will break it up and you wont notice it too much. I think I might still give it a try. Some of the posts on other threads on cruise critic were very positive about it since they stepped up security and police etc

Maybe by yhe time we go others will have reviewed it more recntly to give us a more recent idea.:thumbsup2

Thanks,

I am the countdown chic. If you have any questions just ask. Just post on this thread and between all of us we will have the answer.

You are in for more fun than you can imagine. After this cruise you will not be such a land lover and you will become a Disney Cruise addict.

It does sound good. I think we might just stick with the Sheraton Beach. We are going to get off first thing go to the beach and make it back on the ship early. I am always paranoid about getting left on an Island.

What is everyones dining time??? We are Early seating.

Welcome :cheer2:

The whole family will enjoy the Disney Cruise. There is stuff to do for any age:)

Is anyone planning on going to Palo and/or Remy for dinner?

We ahve never done dinner. I am hooked on brunch. They have this grape pizza that is delicious!!!

Our one rule w our kids is you have to eat dinner with the family. So every night we have dinner together.

I would love to do brunch at Palo. We have been to dinner at Palo on the magic twice, so I'm looking for something different. Did you have trouble getting reservations? What did you have to wear during bunch?

I second the grape and blue cheese pizza - heavenly:cloud9:... although its not actually on the menu I saw recently:scared1:
