We are already planning on booking while onboard to take advantage of the discounts....I have a couple questions though.

Will they charge me an extra $250 for DD? She will be 18 months when we sail and will turn three by the time of the cruise we will be booking. If so, can I just book DH and I and pay $500 and then add her later? Will they charge extra to add her later? We are planning on booking a cat 6 or better.

Also our family is planning on joining us on the 12/05 cruise that we plan to book. Is there anyway I can book for them so they can enjoy the discounts too? Or do they need to be onboard at the time of rebooking?

now I am thinking I need to book all three of us so the 10% discount applies....if I add her later I wouldn't get 10% off the addition would I?

I just didn't want to take $250 off my spending money!! :(

I think you do need to book her at the time of the cruise to get the 10% discount..plus if you tried to add her later and they had there quoto of kids (they only allow so many on the boat due to the capacity of the kids clubs) you wouldn't be able to go at all. Plus...think about it...if you could add people and get the discount when you were off the boat....everyone would be doing that...ya know?

We are crusing with my mom and sister in Sep 05 so when DH and I go in Sep 04 we are going to book their room under my name and she is going to give me her deposit money prior to my cruise via a check and I am going to just pay all of our deposits with my CC. They will also get the 10% and 200 per room credit to enjoy!! I am pretty sure you need to book it under your name since the discount only applies if you are actually booking onboard and are present. I could be wrong but I think that is how it works.

OK, DD won't have a $250 deposit, b/c her ticket won't cost that much. BUT, what you can do, is book the room just for you and DH, then LATER add DD and pay the deposit then. Just make sure you get a room big enough. THat's what we have done in the past...and plan to again in the future. Get a room big enough for all of us (5), but only book for DH and I, that way the deposit is only $500. Then, later, added our kids and payed their deposits when we added them. It helped with affording the deposit.

lillygator . . . You can book 2 rooms and put DH in one and you in the other. That way, you get the full on-board credit for your friends later. You can always add people to a room as long as there is room in the kids club. When I was onboard in Oct, I booked 2 rooms hoping my Mom would join us. I don't know if that will happen . . . If not, I'll just move my DD and DH back into the room with me and DS. Got all that??

Hello lilygator- We just sailed 1/17/04 and we rebooked while onboard and I had a similar situation to yours. We are a family of 4 and we rebooked for next year, but we wanted to hold a room for other family members. We wanted to take advantage of the 10% discount and stateroom credit being offered at the time of rebooking. We were unsure of which family members would be going(inlaws or sister-in law and son) The woman who works the rebooking table gave us this advice. We booked our room for myself and 2 children, then on the extra room we put DW as the lead person on the room and another adult. This way we can add another person to our room(if its an adult we would only be adding our DD's price to our room). On the 2nd room since DW is the lead person we can change the names of whoever else is in the room with her. If the lead person changes in the other room you will lose the discount and room credit. In our case if the people in the 2nd room decide not to go we cancel the room before 60 days out and put DW back into our room and have no charges.
