Onboard credit question

Can onboard credit be used for float and snorkel rentals at Castaway Cay or does it literally have to be used 'onboard'?

The onboard credits are applied to your shipboard account. So all items charged back to your room would apply. This includes DCL shore excursions on the islands including Castaway Cay.
