How many cabins can I book for future cruises? Also, I have heard something about friends and family coupons you can take with you. Has anyone else heard of these? Are they still around? How do you get them? Thanks!

There has been a change about this recently. The limit is 2 staterooms for the same cruise date per address in the stateroom that is onboard. Others can be booked, but not for the discounted deposit.

New rules went into effect at the beginning of March. THere are no more Friends and Family certificates.

Each "household" on board (defined as person or persons with different addresses listed on the current cruise) and book 2 cabins for the same date and get the full benefits. They may book additional cabins, but those additional will only get the OBC, not the discounted deposit or fare discount.

Say I book two staterooms for the same cruise is it one reservation for two rooms or two reservations? In other words, can I then transfer one of them to a different cruise date or would I loose the OBC that way.

I don't know that anyone has had the opportunity to try to do that yet, though if you only need one room for your family, you wouldn't be able to put the same people in both rooms on the same cruise.

So I cannot add additional passengers not sailing with us to our reservation, but have my name as primary on both cabins? I guess I am just confused :confused3

How many cruises can you get the discount on? I booked one dummy cruise on our last cruise and wish I had booked two (or three). Can you still book more than one cruise and receive the discount?

You can only book one cruise date for up to two staterooms per address sailing on the cruise that can receive the discount, reduced deposit and OBC. Any other cruise dates or staterooms for the first date will only receive the OBC that goes with the CC level.

The fact that you still get the OBC is still a good deal. Not as good as the 10%, but it is still nice if you know you will be taking more than one cruise.

Ok Confused....

I go on cruise. Want to book a future cruise with a friends family that is NOT on the current cruise. Can I book their room too and get them the discount and OBC?? We only need one room and they only need one room?

Thanks

The new rules that went into effect on 3/4/12 are listed in the FAQ sticky at the top of the boards. The info is a direct copy and past of what WebmasterKelsie posted.

Thanks for posting, I completely missed it the first time. I do have one question you might be able to answer. The FAQ's states "When booking onboard, you are allowed to book 2 reservations per household that will receive the 10% discount, 50% deposit and onboard credit (based on Castaway Club level). They must be for the same sail date."

Since the current rate for deposit is 20% does this mean 50% of that (aka 10% down like before) or does this mean we have to put 50% down? Forgive me if that is a silly question, but I am a newbie.

The onboard booking deposit is 10% of the cruise fare, which is a 50% reduction of the normal 20% deposit. I'll go back and change that to be a bit more clear.

Ok. So my husband and I are going in June with no kids but plan to rebook for June 2013 with the kids. Sounds like this wont be a problem even if they are not with us because we all have the same address. However there are 5 of us and I was hoping to have my parents in our second room with 1 of the kids...sounds like that wont work now. Can I still book them in that room...they just wont get the discount but the kid will?
I am so mad we all didnt book last June when we were on but I told them I would do it this time and then Disney goes and changes the policy...ugh.

I am wondering the same thing. DH, DD6 and i will be sailing in May. Would like to book 2 rooms for next year. Can my brother and his wife be added at a later time to one of those rooms (they will not be on this cruise in May). Anyone have an answer? :goodvibes

One more question:goodvibes!
I am planning on doing my first OBB (it's my first cruise, so I guess it has to be my first OBB too:rolleyes:!) aboard the Magic in June. I want to book for a future cruise, probably 2014, therefore will book a "dummy booking" to move later on. I do not need the actual rooms I will book so the number of occupants / muster station space is not an issue. And anyway I'm moving the booking later so the rate will change. What is my cheapest option for booking 2 rooms? I am thinking, a single adult in each room x2 rooms, or one adult/one child in each of the 2 rooms. I have found the least expensive inside cabins on a 3 day Bahamas cruise, in Jan or Feb 2013. I want to get my OBB request ready and just hand it in when we board. (Should I even TELL my DH???!??)
