.....other than the wedding rings.

Either before, during or after the ceremony. I wondered how common this is nowadays.

I clicked "other" because DH gave me my gift (a necklace to wear the day of) two months before, and I gave DH his gift the morning of the wedding.

I gave DH a pocket watch in front of the castle at MK on the first day of our wedding trip. It wasn't a hugely expensive gift, but he loves that watch!

Our gifts to each other were very small, inexpensive, but personal. :)

We wrote letters to each other that we exchanged the night before the wedding. :)

We only exchanged rings. We were young and I don't think it ever occurred to us to give each other gifts. When we were planning our wedding, I don't know that I had ever actually been to a wedding before. During that time I did have a friend get married - maybe five or six months before I did. Other than that I didn't have much to go by. October 1st will be our 26th anniversary. :lovestruc

Not us; after paying for the wedding there was no money left for gifts for each other ;)

We exchanged gifts before the wedding. DH gave me a strand of pearls to wear with my dress and I gave him a set of engraved cufflinks to wear.

We exchanged rings for our wedding. We had purchased some very good quality livingroom furniture (which we still have 18 years later!), which was a bit expensive, so that was our gift to each other.

DH gave me a beautiful ring on the day after our wedding to wear next to my wedding ring, It has been on my finger ever since and it´s been 12 yrs.

I gave my DH the most private and precious gift that a wife can give her husband on their wedding night...

Phillies tickets!!! :yay:

After the wedding reception, we exchanged gifts. I gave him a nice watch that matched his wedding ring and he gave me Cinderella's Coach (the Olszewski miniature), since we couldn't afford it for the wedding ceremony at Disneyland.

No, we didn't exchange gifts--I'd never really heard of that until I read it here before. We got married on my birthday, though, so he gave me those gifts. ;)

We got married on my birthday, too! :cool1:

No...

We opted to spend the whole morning/afternoon in the spa. We did a package deal where we got to take a jacuzzi bath together with rose petals, aromatherapy and bath salt by candlelight... then two massage therapists came into the room and gave us side-by-side couples messages. It was heaven!

No, we didn't exchange gifts. However, he did decide to go to his mother's to see what wedding gifts we got. So, we wound up at my mom's to eat since the caterer forgot to pack us something. Then we wound up at his mother's and didn't get to the hotel till after 11pm. I'm still sore about that. I was exhausted the next day going down to Disney.

DH gave me a beautiful necklace before our wedding and I bought him a small present to open each day of our honeymoon!! :lovestruc
