I'm sorry about your friend's dad. Sounds like he will be on ventilator support for a while until they can see if the brain swelling subsides and his mental status improves. It sounds like your friends needs the Xanax right now just to be able to function. You said her siblings were doing a little better than she seemed to be. Hopefully they can all support each other and come to terms with what sounds like a pretty grim situation.
Glad you took today off. A family portrait sounds like a great idea. We had one done when DD was 4 months old ( she's now 14 ). Maybe we should get another one done before my DS goes off to college....
Stayed OP for food and water today. Did 5.4 miles today on the glider. It was hard at first since I hadn't exercised since Friday but I'm glad I made myself go. I am going to routinely take at least 1 day a week off unless I'm afraid I will burn out.
Iam so sorry to hear about your friend's father. Her family will be in my prayers, you too. Great job saying no to work and getting your exercise in today. Keep it up. I just wanted to say thanks again.

I wanted to check on you to see how you are doing. Good for you in not answering the phone on your days off. You deserve a rest! I'm so sorry about your friend's dad. How terrible for her and her family to have to deal with.
I'm happy that you are able to get your exercise in and I had to come to the same conclusion that a rest day is needed. It can be hard forcing yourself but I'm sure it does a body good. Take care!
I'll keep your friend's dad, your friend and all her family in my prayers. They've been through so much.
I'm glad you've put your foot down as far as too much OT. Maybe you should let them know which days you'd be willing to come in or stay late and which days they may as well not bother asking. At least that way you've got a little more control.....just a thought.
I know things are tough on you nurses, and as the hubby of a wife who had a lil one a month ago the nurses are what got us though it, they were wonderful!
Take care of yourself and your family, that is ultimately what matters most!
Hi wilderness,
It sounds like you are doing a great job! I wouldn't worry about the fast food too much. Just make sure that you lots of water. Plus, you are working out today and that will help too.
I hope that your picture taking goes well tomorrow. My DH and I keep saying we need to get a family photo taken, but we never get around to doing it. Let us know how it turns out.
Sometimes we hit the snag where we need to grab something or not have anything at all. It is more imporant that you fuel your body rather then starve yourself.
You may want to try to keeping snacks in your car that you know you can grab in a quickie. Things like bags of popcorn or peanuts - depending on what plan you are following.
Wow, you've got way too much on your plate today! Can your kids vacuum the pool? (Under your supervision of course...) You need to delegate something and if they are going to have friends over to swim then they need to help out.
I have the hardest time staying on plan on the go too. Either I eat something I shouldn't or I don't eat at all - which is worse later. Just do the best you can and make the best choice you can.
