"Disney on a Budget" !!!! Saw this on another thread. I think it said 9 est. but check your area. Got my DVR ready!

You beat me to it. I was gonna post a reminder as well. Very important! Thanks, we'll be tuning in....this week it's "Disney on a Dime." :upsidedow

Thank you! I hadn't even heard about this. I just set the DV-R to add it to my current collection!

I also set it to record but for 1 AM....so I'll watch it tomorrow (yes DVR is awesome....but I wish I had more room :()

I watched it last night - all it is, is an infomercial for Disney... but its still fun to see!

I think Disney paid for an hour of time on the Travel Channel last night. It was much more "Let's convince people to take their next vacation at WDW" than "Let's show people who are going to Disney how to save money." Fun to watch, but a little disappointing IMHO. I was expecting something a little more objective.

I was hoping to watch it, but 2 of my kids had friends sleep over last night. Needless to say, mommy did NOT Get the TV !!! :)

Yeah, that.

Maybe it's different for others (who don't know about the wealth of info here, lol!), but I don't feel like there was anything new, innovative, or noteworthy about "Disney on a Budget" at all.

I still enjoyed seeing the parks though, and dreaming of our upcoming trip!

Really... What were their "money saving tips"...

Stay on site and use ME... Well yes...

For what the family in the cabin spent the could have stayed
at a "Value" and purchased the DDP and not had to cook on vacation!

Cut the number of days and do THREE parks in one day???? NOT....

I didn't get it either....

Well everyone knows that renting golf cart and pontoon boat will save you some serious cash. :lmao:

And make sure you buy all the ride photos, that'll save you money too! lol

Loved the caption when they were talking stroller rental... "$8-10 per day"... Sure they taped this before the (ridiculous) price increase, but anyone who takes that as fact is going to be in for a surprise.

Just thought of another thing that had me baffled last night . . ..

They mentioned the numerous "counter service buffets" when the one family ate at the Trail's End . . ..

I'm guessing they just meant an AYCE buffets . . . but way to use some quasi-Disney lingo there to confuse things!

Oh yeah, and let's not forget those visits to DisneyQuest and Cirque. They conveniently failed to mention what those cost if you don't have a MYW ticket that has a waterpark fun and more option on it.

IMHO it was just a very long promo for Disney. It was still fun to watch, but very misleading to someone who doesn't have much or any knowledge of Disney.

My personal favorite line by the narrator was, "Wow! This Wilderness Cabin is soooo roomy they could have brought friends!" UH, max occupancy is 6 and they had 2 adults and 3 children in their family so how exactly were they going to squeeze in another family??? The porch??? :lmao:

Ok, maybe I have TWO favorites! Same family, they are "saving" money by staying in the cabins because it has a full kitchen and they can cook some of their meals. So, did they bring their own groceries? NOPE! Did they order online from gardengrocer or wegoshop? NOPE! Instead they bought their Mickey shaped cheese and crackers in the gift shop! That was probably $15 worth of cheese. :rotfl:

I liked the show in the sense that it gives newbies an idea of just how big WDW is and how much there is to do. I appreciate this because I get tired of explaining to friends/family/co-workers that it's not a Floridian version of Disneyland and you WON'T run out of things to do after day 2!!

I can buy a stroller for less then they want for a week to rent it....ridiculous!

It was really nice to see the park, but I think alot of the information has to be taken with a grain of salt....and a big pocketbook.

(As a mom with two kids who don't eat alot....I would never do a Disney buffet....pay $15 each for them to eat two-three bites...no way)

oh also....there's a program on a luxury splurge at Disney too this week....

Yeah, you have to keep in mind that these are Disney advertisements disguised as TV shows, but I agree that it's still fun to see... I'll take all the WDW I can get. ;)

I think this is going to be every week too - every Friday at 9pm. I think next week will be about weddings - but I don't know 100%. As I said, its just an infomercial, but any infomercial with Mickey in it is a pretty good one - better than the ginso knife one - who needs to cut a tin can anyway!!!
