On the subject of food at gatwick

we are staying at the Renaissance at Gatwick the night before. Does anyone know if you can take your car out to find a cheaper place to eat or are you stuck in the hotel once you have checked in ?

Hi,

The food in the Renaissance isn't too bad or too expensive. The bar sells food as well. It also has a swimming pool where we've spent a couple of hours counting down till take off!!

Having said that, you will be able to take the car to another restaurant. Ask reception for a token for the car park exit.

Whenever we stay at the renaissance, we always eat at a local pub, "Ye old six bells" (post code RH6 8AD). Its a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel and serves a pretty good selection of pub food.
To get to it you can cut through the churchyard on the brighton road.
